True, good point. Pyrite is called fools gold- maybe morado should be called fools rosewood. I kid, love the Pau Ferro aka Morado fingerboard in my Avatar pic, and it was not cheap

My goodness those are some of the cheapest looking basses I have ever seen I'll give you $500 for the whole lot but you have to pay shipping that's the best I can do.Here's some cheap basses. Except for the ebony on the fretless all are Pau Ferro.

At least the fretboard matches the plant holders and the brick (right side even with the 2nd fret).
Personally, I think the fretboard would look much better if it was the same darkness as the door (below the 12th fret) because of how dark the body color is, but that is just me.
I figured(the stuff above your quote isn't directed at you! Sorry, I realise this looks accusatory).
Beautiful instrumentspau ferro on the middle one. "Cheap" is in the eye of the beholder, but that bass plays and sounds quite good (as you'd expect). Actually sounds better than rosewood in my hands/ears (including some Brazilian one's I've owned/gigged).
As a last resort, there's always the SharpieMod™

I figured

Probably the lighter color compared to rosewood.
I've seen some very light colored rosewood fretboards on Epiphone & low end Gibson Les Pauls and it screamed cheap especially when coupled with the sloppiness of the workmanship. So from that learning experience, I tend to stay away from light colored fretboards unless they are maple.
Ebony, PF, Ebony. Nice!pau ferro on the middle one. "Cheap" is in the eye of the beholder, but that bass plays and sounds quite good (as you'd expect). Actually sounds better than rosewood in my hands/ears (including some Brazilian one's I've owned/gigged).

Cheap! And that's a "fact"!![]()
If Fender is worried about the supply of rosewood drying up, why don't they go back to using a veneer like they were using during the CBS era.
He sounds like a real peach...

Dang! I wouldn't mind an Olympic white jazz with an ebony board and black pickguard at all.

I'll take Pau Ferro over ebony any day. The two ebony-board basses I owned both had shrinkage causing very sharp fret ends. The Pau necks I owned were great. But, I'd still rather have a dark rosewood board over either.

I've been called far worse (two divorces). That's a fact as well![]()
