I’ve never seen one or played one. I can understand some might find this an attractive option.

That could be.
Admittedly I'm just going off of historically what has happened with other new Fender concepts.
We on TB aren't a perfect reflection of the bass playing population either. Maybe once these things are on the wall in Guitar Centers they'll be a smash hit with a younger crowd, etc.
I would love to be wrong. This thing looks wicked.
I’m pretty sure those are dual J pickups, not Dimension humbuckers.Fender takeoff on a reverse Gibson Thunderbird… But at least they’re finding good use for all those leftover Dimension pickups.(IMO it was a crime the way they let the Dimension just wither on the vine. Dimensions are truly great basses. One of the best designs Fender ever came up with.)
Either way, I’d really like to try one out. Looks like a fun bass. My inner headbanger is looking at it with a longing gleam in its eyes.
heritageWhat's up with the flourishes/accents on either side of the headstock logo? Perhaps I'm a shallow person but that would keep me from buying one. Design wise the bass looks like something good for pounding out simple, loud bass lines since your fretting hand will probably be holding the neck up. If I could get rid of the logo accents and put a pearloid pickguard on it I would hang it on my wall though.
I’m pretty sure those are dual J pickups, not Dimension humbuckers.
from that pic…
Talking about the ol' wide strap solution? Some people find that rather uncomfortable, and not an acceptable remedy. Here's an idea ... I know it's crazy ... but bear with me ... why not make an instrument that balances as is? Nah, that's crazy talk.Half a dozen posts about neck dive.
Some people don't realize how it's easily remedied?
Yeah, making it heavier may not be seen as an enjoyable remedy, either, and generally only kinds half works, ime. I'd much prefer just getting an instrument that balances comfortably on my shoulder. Hey, to each his own.
They LOOK like double J's, and that might be whats inside, but IIRC they called them powerbuckers or something like that.I’m pretty sure those are dual J pickups, not Dimension humbuckers.
Seriously.
This thing is a really cool concept! So was the Dimension.
