Is that a '66 Ampeg? Looks exactly like mine.
Anyone here in the pre-cbs bass community who is in Fresno California who would be willing to look at something for me before I purchase it?
It's a long rather convoluted story but the Short Stroke is it appears to me that the pictures that I was sent were lifted from another site leading me to wonder if the fellow even has what he is selling
The seller also insists on being paid through PayPal friends and family even when I had offered to pick up the PayPal fees which would be involved
I would of course be willing to pau anyone who cpuld help me for their time
Alternatively if some one hete is unable to help perhaps someone could recommend a known honrst dealer in Fresno who would do it for a fee
Thamks for amy.hrlp I can get
Personally I would avoid that like the plague and I would report the seller. Pictures lifted from another site, and friends and family, means you have no recourse. Both of those are two giant red flags. Especially since you offered to use normal PayPal and pay the fees and the seller declined, that tells me it's not legit.
The only time where pictures lifted from another site might be valid would be if you are ordering from a seller in Japan. It is very common over there for multiple sellers to list the same instrument and use the same pictures. Most often you will also see them listed with different selling prices as well.
Whichever dealer ends up getting the sale will usually work out a deal with the dealer who actually has the instrument. That is SOP over there.
As an aside, I feel relatively safe using PayPal friends and family with the sellers here on TB and have yet to be burned on anything.
Have you contacted the seller asking him why his pictures are lifted from a different site? I'd be interested to hear what his response is to that question.
Maybe not, judging by the bad string alignment (unless it's the pics)Bet it plays nice![]()
No, send it here. I'll send you back a brand new bass you'll like much more.Does my 1960 Precision count?
