PLEASE HELP I REALLY NEED THESE QUESTIONS ANSWERED!!!
i know not to put my master and gain knobs to the max because u can push ur amp too hard and it affects the sound and can be unhealthy to ur speakers i think. i never put my master or gain knobs above 12 oclock just incase. for practice i usually have both my gain and master set at about 8 oclock. I play through a rumble 100 combo by the way.
what is the max i should have the master and gain knobs at to achieve maximum loudness before amp starts to sound terrible?
Also does this apply to the eq (bass, lo mid, hi mid, treble) and overdrive knobs aswell? is it alright to turn them up all the way? what is the max i should do for all my knobs?
the reason i ask is cos i have a gig coming up . im told it is only small, but i dont want my amp to get drowned out by the drums and guitar and i dont want to push my amp too hard so wondering what to do.
i play a discontinued ashdown five fifteen 100 watt combo at school and it seems to hold well against the drummer, who is about medium loudness. the knobs are set about 1 to 3 oclock at times. not too quiet to get drowned out so it just sits in the mix well i guess. Any lower it would get drowned out a bit. I know the new v3 rumbles are loud so i hope it will hold its own for the gig.
if anyone can help me out here that would be great.
