Fender Rumble Club

It was on the floor, about 2 inches behind my legs.
Vintage and bright switches on, low mids at 11:00, the others at noon, no overdrive, gain and master at 9:00.
P-Bass with DR Pure Blues strings, 45-105, Hearos earplugs, a cheap 6-foot guitar cable and a Planet Waves strap. Black Converse hi-tops, a gray Corolla parked outside, and coffee for breakfast.

Yeah, I'm often right in front of the amp within 2-3'. That's why I'll go out as far as I can to hear b4 we start. Also why I use a tilt back stand since my knees don't hear too good-ly.

Last week, I picked up a used Rumble 1x15 cabinet, to go with my 500 v.3 head.
At home and at a gig, I was underwhelmed by the sound-- to me, it didn't quite have the guts of my GK 210RBH or Neo 112II or Neo 212II cabinets.
I am familiar with single 15 cabinets-- I use an Ampeg Rocketbass combo quite a bit (especially for quick tear-downs at multi-band shows with FOH support), and I used to play through Music Man 1x15 cabs and homemade 1x15 Thiele cabs.

Anyway... after the gig, I got the most compliments I've gotten in recent memory.
As Kurt Vonnegut used to say, "And so it goes..."

Wireless so you can hear how you sit in the mix. Really the only way to go.

Bedroom tone, rehearsal tone, stage tone, mix tone...only one matters for a gig.

Shoot, I can hear the 800 at the end of my road without an extension cab. I moved a drum set and Megazoid into the house a few weeks ago and the next door neighbors moved out two days later. It was unrelated but I got a good chuckle out of it anyways.

not so sure how I'd feel about a club that'd have someone like me for a member

I need a new amp and I think it will be a *new* as in "not used" one. I'm not likely to be gigging with it and I'll probably soon be in a new place (read: apartment, not single family home like I am now). It will probably go to friends' houses to jam with mostly acoustic guitars. A light weight combo seems most suitable for my needs.

I checked out a Rumble 100 at GC last week. As of now it is a strong contender. At about 300 dollars any other candidates at that range?

my buddy got a rumble 100 and it sounded great & was loud as hell but I felt like it was pushing it for a loud band

Studio 40 is around that price range.
Really nice if you don't have a pre-existing pedal fetish.
I'm a big proponent of go big so you don't have to go home and get a different amp when somebody shows up with some freaky 8in Jenson speaker in a 20w Mustang 1 that somehow keeps up with a 500W bass amp. General rule is you need twice as much power as each guitarist has. I don't trust guitarists, even if they do play acoustic.

Cool thing about the little Rumbles though is you can just dump the money you save on it into an active PA main and all of a sudden you've got a Studio 1040. As of next Friday I'm about to have a Rumble 1800 Stage. And next month... the moon is gonna be diggin on some P Funk.

I'm curious as well. Once I get the Touchmix30 I'll be able to remotely mix from an iPad and leave the mixer on stage but that leaves me with the trouble of mixing my bass and playing my bass at the same time.

Has anyone done a foot switch mod for voicing modes on Rumble 500? My only gripe with the Rumble 500c is the control panel location. It becomes more of an issue when stacked. I think the convenience of having the voicing foot switchable would be awesome.

Use preset 60 on your stage or studio,
Turn off the reverb and then mess with the blackbox controls a little and then you have Justin Chancellor on “Sober” by Tool. I use that setting in my grunge band quite a bit.
