Fender Rumble Club

Here in America, the musician is about equal to the homeless as is just about any artist. We have no 'real skills'. We are not plumbers; carpenters, welders, mechanics, etc. Some of us are and do OK. I got nothin'.

We suffer from the same thing here LOL.If someone ask you "what to you do for living?",probably he will ask you again if your answer is "musician".:roflmao:

Not any more. Squier is now it's own brand and wholly owned subsidiary just as much as Gretsch is.
The very first Squiers were made in Mexico and said Fender Squier. All others were "Squier by Fender" and I've seen some that said "Squier for Fender". Now it's just a large Squier with a small Fender underneath. Squiers are no longer shown on Fender.com and have their own website.

The international Fender website still lists Squiers.

Order direct from Fender! I was just poking around the new Fender.com and noticed the 'Add To Cart' option on the Rumble page. So as a test I added a Rumble 500 head and a pair of Rumble 115 cabinets, and sure enough all I had to do next was click on 'Secure Checkout'. Pricing was full Fender MAP (manufacturer's advertised price). So if you want a discount you still have to go through your favorite music store or e-tailer.

No. Freakin'. Way.

That is NOT going to sit well with dealers...

Anyone willing to pay full MSRP can jump the cue ahead of all those pre-orders the dealers have been patiently taking? Meaning that they'll have to wait even longer for stock?

Come to think of it, it won't please the poor schlump who's sitting at home, waiting for an email from MF or Sweetwater.
Well, you can't place a 'pre-order' at Fender. You can only place an order for in stock product. I'm sure Fender will allocate product fairly among their dealers.

???

If you mean that they will share the pain equally amongst all their dealers, I think you're missing the point.

I live in a smallish college town, and Rumbles continue to sell off the floor faster than the local stores can get them in.

Fender is the manufacturer. If they skim 20% off the total output, that's still 20% less to be shared out amongst the dealers.

How many will Fender keep back for themselves?

No, they will be sharing the JOY of quick sales and reasonable profits. No pain involved except for competitors.

I'm guessing you've never owned a music store, or worked the back office aspect of a retail outlet.

Access to stock when you need it, preferential deals for larger chains, direct-to-the-public sales by the manufacturer, sales boundaries, etc. are a BIG deal in that environment. This is the sort of stuff that causes major stress and unpleasantness in business. When mishandled, it can put a store out of business in next to no time.

It looks like this might be an experiment confined to the states, BTW. When I click on the Buy Now link from the Fender Canada site, it just pops up the dealer finder.

If you finish the process and actually give them a credit card number, Fender then back orders it.

Thanks, but no.
