Fender Rumble Club

Hmmm, ... January is one of two times a year when the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] usually presents new models of gear! I say "usually" because The 'Rona canceled this year's Summer NAMM and could do the same in January '21. In fact, if you followed that link, they seem to be currently focused on January 2022?!!

Anyhoos, there could, conceivablly, be another new Rumble, or two, such as when the Stage & Studio were introduced in '18 and the LT25 & 800 HD in '19. Or maybe even a whole revamp of the line as the 7-year-old V1s gave way to the V2s in '10, and when the 4-year-old V2s made way for the V3s in '14. The V3s will be 7-years-old in January '21. Hmmmm ... ...

What new Rumblings would you like to see ... ... ?
.
Oh boy!!!!!. Weightless bass cabinets. Lolol. OK. An R250 112 with the return of the 112 cabinet. Perfect weight and volume.

TBH, I'm pretty much set for life with the v3 R's 40, 100, and 200c. I'd always wanted a 2x12 cab, but at this stage of my life, I don't need nuthin'-'cept(paying)gigs.
EDIT: IF I could turn the clock back and start over, I prolly woulda gone with the 200h(500 wasn't out yet)and either 2x112s or 1 each 112/115, stacked. But. If the frog had wings, he wouldn't bounce his @$$ on the creek bank.

... remember what the original "speaker cables" for piggyback 7enders looked like-lamp wire.

Yes, indeed, sir. Lamp wire, AKA "zip cord" is "watt" low powered speakers used in "ye olden days". In these days of higher powered speakers even that may not be quite good enough! In electrical considerations it's usually best to err on the side of caution.

I mentioned the "Y" connector as a simple alternative to doing surgery on the cabs. I'd noticed in the past that those connectors don't care what 'direction' I wanted the signal to travel. Everything went to all 3 points.
And remember what the original "speaker cables" for piggyback 7enders looked like-lamp wire.

A Y adapter will normally work like that. And lamp wire and speaker wire are oft identical.

It comes in various gauges. 18 guage (typical lamp cord) will handle most instrument speaker wiring. I’m a big fan of over-engineering so I use 14 or 12 gauge. The speaker will catch fire well before that has any issues.

I have some 14 gage speaker cable and can make my own Y adapter now that I understand that parallel wiring and 2-16 ohm cabs will get me 8 ohms into my 500c external speaker jack. I also have some 10 gage speaker wire which was left over from our recent sound system upgrade at our church. I led the project. We installed four 21" subs wired with the 10 gage. Total system is 31,000 watts. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is loving it, hasn't told us to turn it down....yet....

I know, I know. I'm so tempted to get the R200 with a 210 cab over 48 months just to blast out for stress reduction and overall improved mental health. <$20/mth. At 68 I'm not doing anything else.

I like your thinking. I share the temptation.

I’m gonna say “do it”...to both of you.
Because it will sound good to YOU.
...and post pics of course.

Hey guys! Any of you could explain the difference in tone between the Rumble 800 head and the Bassman 800 head?
I already owned a Rumble 800 that I really liked (but swapped it for a Mesa D800+ for more definition with 5 string basses). But now I got interested on the newer Bassman heads and wonder how do they compare.
Thanks!

Le beau, mon cher!

A. I have zero experience with either the R800HD or the BM800.
2. I often joyfully experience both the R500c and the BM500 and have compared them here.

The differences in tone, however, lie in the Bassman's tube pre-amp, deep switch and vintage cut-only channel, all of which are absent from the Rumble. IIRC, the tube even remains in the XLR signal when switched to Pre!

I hope this helps you, cher.

Ulp! ... Perhaps I should have said, "mon ami", instead. :) But I got into my cajun mind where everyone is "cher" ('shaa" rhymes with a lamb's "baa-a").

And my link is just a single post, not a whole thread. ;)

Ahahah yes My friend might be more appropriate ahahah anyways i read your post and its alright. I think it is worth it to shed some 300$ (CAD) for the bassman. Its very disappointing that no store has it in stock here.
By the way, I currently own a GK 212 neo. Id like to get more low end, more definition and more volume on stage. So im looking to swap it for a Neo410, but the Bassman Neo 410 looks gorgeous and interesting. Is it any better than the Rumble410 in any perceivable way?
The rumble 410 I once had sounded muddy and farted all the time if pushed a little with my R800 HD

I can't tell a big tonal difference between my R500c's ceramic 2x10s and my neo BM115 when connected. But I've read others, obviously with more discerning ears, say the neos are more responsive and articulate. At twice the price of the Rumble 410 I should certainly hope you could hear a difference in the BM410. Give it a try and let us know your thoughts.

Of course if I could find one to try around here it will be a pleasure to give you my impressions!
Thanks again!

Don't Canadian online orders have a very gracious return policy, mon ami? I ordered my R500c 6-1/2 years ago fully expecting to return it for the BM500. (I already had the BM115) I was quite sceptical of the low weight & low price versus the high power. But, I got hooked! I later went ahead with the BM500, fearing the comparison may tarnish the R500c. But, viola! [sic] ;) They live in my musical toolbox in perfect harmony!
