Fender Rumble Club

What up! Any tips on playing my Rumble 500c quietly? My gf just moved in and she is not a fan of the vibrating walls that come from the (admittedly) absurd amount of dirt pedals I have. Turning the volume down on my Rumble just doesn’t give me the tone I want.

Are headphones my best option? I have a pair of Fender IEMs on the way that I’m hoping will allow me to get my tone. Anyone have any experience with the JHS little black box? I’m wondering if I should build my own real quick, throw it in the effects loop, and see if that will keep things at reasonable volumes.

Any advice appreciated!

Welcome back, ramy. Long time, no see.

Yeah, unfortunately, the virtual soundscape of headphones or earbuds, are gonna be your best bet where most anyone else not actively enjoying your practice are concerned. As I just told my son-in-law, who's SO thrilled with the subwoofer on his new surround sound system, bass frequencies will penetrate throughout your house, and your neighbors', much more than other frequencies. I've been thru this many, many times with my wife, and a couple of neighbors, and our daughter is certainly no different. And, especially anyone trying to sleep is going to be even more hypersensitive to bass frequencies. Sorry, just physics. :(

Ahh that makes sense. I was hoping a volume control in my effects loop would help out but I guess headphones is the ideal option. I’m sure my neighbor will greatly appreciate it too lol

Hopefully these IEMs I’ve got on the way sound ok! My open back headphones were all right but missing a little low end. Thanks for the input!

EatSy, listen to Ronnie & Miley!!! They are right. You are wrong. Rumble on or off, don't do it!!! Besides being connected to the speaker, that ext jack is also connected to the amp. The electricity don't know, or care, that you only want it to go to the speaker. It'll go both places! And what it does to either or both amps, you don't want to find out!! :woot:

EatS, the Rumble Modifications section, then see the link "Separating Combo's Amp and Speaker(s) - The eric_B Mod" in the Rumble Modifications section of the Rumble Club Wiki page, and read that whole thread!!! That's how to do what you want to do without harm to either amp.

Good luck.

I have solved the problem by pulling the trigger on both the Ampeg PF 20T and the PF112 cab. I was a baad boy!

eric, my good buddy! I try to #stayhome and #stayhealthy these days. So far, so good. How have you been? Any more good Rumbke tips you can bless with? Your separating amp & speakers in combos is quite popular.

Same here, doing fine so far. Yes, it seems a lot of people like that idea.
I got sidetracked to other projects, I haven't done much with bass gear.
Any new ideas or wishes you know of?

I've heard of no really new ideas lately. There is the long-hoped-for Rumble Club 400 head & combo and the Rumble 212 cab that are still on the collective wish list, though.

And even the Bassman Club has only the mini-Bassman head wish.

Unless someone has some cool fantasies they haven't shared yet. Anyone? Anyone? Buehler?
