Makes me wonder if he had an amp at all.
I know he didn’t have any integrity.

Good for you! I've had to do stuff like that to some people. It's the lame part of dealing with personal sales but it does happen. Best to just chalk it up to they're aJust venting here. I don’t need another combo, at least that is what my wife tells me, but on CL a listing popped up for a gen 1 Rumble 100 in “like new” condition for $50. The listing was 6 hours old when I saw it, but wth, I replied and said I would take it, since pulsing red lights might be interesting. The lister replies and we agree to meet at 11:00 am on Friday (today). He hadn’t provided a place to get it, and I had emailed a couple times asking about where. Well, I’m in DC this morning finishing up some work prior to the arranged time, but still no response with a location. The guy isn’t responding so I figure my wife was right, and I head up the road.
I make another stop and check my email, and this (graphic expletive descriptive deleted) replies and says he raised the price to $100, am I still interested? Had he listed it at $100, I probably still would have gone for it, but he got greedy. I replied that since he reneged on an agreement there was no way I would do business with him.
Had I said yes to $100, I have no doubt this (individual of outstanding moral character - oh, wait…) would have tried to bump the price again. Sorry for the rant, some people really annoy me. If you want to sell something, do your friggin research first, or just don’t be a douche.

I've gotten a lot more bold with jerks when it comes to selling. Had a person I didn't want to deal with anymore so I told them the price was now double especially for them. Another person tried to bully me for some reason so I tore them a new one and told 'em to get a new hobby. Silenced both of them nicely. You gave The Definitive Response, Troggy. I'd have been tempted to give him a counter-offer upping my haul-off fee, chargeable to him, to $100 for that 60 lb. beast! Not that I'd really trust him no matter what the next response. That's why I wanna find a working Rumble V1 25.
Exactly! Probably total scam all the way.

I also had to file a fraud complaint with Kijiji, Canada Post, and the RCMP a couple months ago. That was almost a very expensive lesson.
But on the flip side I had someone buy a bass case off me today and give me twice what I was asking because he felt he was underpaying for it. So I sold him one of my extra pickguards for a good price and we stood around outside talking for a good half hour both of us wearing masks of course. These occasions may be the more rare ones but they do remind me Humans aren't all bad!![]()
Yeah. There's this potentially deadly respiratory disease spreading around. I'm not really a fan of helping it.Of course?

I'm not getting COVID the week before my vaccine!Just venting here. ...one for it, but he got greedy. I replied that since he reneged on an agreement there was no way I would do business with him.

And for those who want that Ampeg tone. Nope. You're welcome, Jakey. I agree with @iagtrplyr that the new Rocket Bass amps are the sincerest form of flattery to the Rumbles! And for those who want that Ampeg tone, and don't mind paying a little more (and getting a little less power & EQ control!) they look pretty good. But, like you, my Rumbles and Bassmen, ... uh, Bassmans(?), ... Bassman amps have me very well stocked.
Oh, and thank you for backing me up on that other Rumble/Bassman thread, too.

There's no need to explain why you were wearing a mask, especially to that person. Only idiots question it.Yeah. There's this potentially deadly respiratory disease spreading around. I'm not really a fan of helping it.
People can say what they want about it but I spent a good 2 months sick with it last year, same with my Son's Mother who later told me she at a few points considered just stopping breathing because it was just too difficult and tiring. The both of us and our Son have all had diminished physical health since. The rest of my family that came into contact with me barely got a cough. Which was good.
Most of my family has 1 dose of a vaccine right now. Me, my Son, and his Mother don't have ours yet though. Add to that most of our cases are the UK variant and that it was 6 degrees today. All that means I'm absolutely going to be masked talking to a stranger, even outside.
I had to bus to a job interview yesterday (and have to bus to get my vaccine on Tuesday) and despite being on 2 trains and 4 buses I managed to get away with only having to touch a button once on them. And the lockdown meant the buses were empty to nearly empty. I still sanitized after I got off each bus though and then sanitized my phone because I hold it on the bus. Kept my mask on 100% of the trip, even the outdoor walking bits. I already feel likeI'm not getting COVID the week before my vaccine!
I will however have some protection against COVID once I am working again. So that's awesome.![]()
Especially to this person...? Like you know me? I think it a great idea you back off with your passive aggressive idiot accusation. There's no need to explain why you were wearing a mask, especially to that person. Only idiots question it.
Sorry you and your family have had a tough time.
How big of a room?First rehearsal together last night, for over 14 months. Used my 500c + recently acquired 210 cab. Yes, OTT for the space but wanted to test with live drummer. Really pleased with my new rig and band mates commented on bass coming through mix more clearly.
Thanks to TB members advice with purchase of 210. So happy I grabbed the ebay used cab a month or 2 back. They are still not available new.

What was the point of your "of course?" comment?Especially to this person...? Like you know me? I think it a great idea you back off with your passive aggressive idiot accusation.
Sounds like a good way to get there!Recording /practice studio, medium size but felt smaller as various extra kit taking up space. Full acoustic drum kit with dampners.
I had gain right down 8.30 - 9 and volume 11 - 12. Wasn't aiming for loudness but good presence in mix with new compressor and boosted mids.
Sounds like a good way to get there! What compressor are you using?
