Just waited for someone to mention RammsteinI doubt Rammstein would go near it.![]()
You did it! You fit it all on the stage! (Except for the mic stand but close enough :>)

That's where guitarist belong don't you agree! Out of sight out of mind! You have to be center stage wit dat bootiful T-Bird!
It’s a little cramped. Our first guitarist, and singer, could fit everything on the stage, I had to put my micstand in front of it, but will stand on the stage. Our second guitarist will have to stand on the floor during the show

foam it is to seal the ports

If all goes well my r100 gets teleported from last gig's to a JAM session on Friday and there will be another one from a fellow musician so we could check what a dual r100 (200W into 2*12") tower does! Or maybe one on each side? We will see!
Mine is modified (stuffed inside and plugged ports), so i'm thrilled too to test them side-by-side!
Goal was to reduce boom at home/low volumes. How did you like that?
Goal was to reduce boom at home/low volumes.
Stuffing may be helpful, but could not properly A/B before/after. The change is slight tough.
Port plugging for the same reason, less things are rattling in the room, bass feels a bit tighter with it.

... ... What I'm considering is an R25 (1x8) or R40 (1x10) for my EUB. The use would be for an otherwise strictly acoustic band (Bluegrass). Looking for something smaller for 2 reasons: 1. all acoustic so volume not really an issue, (and not wanting to intimidate the others with the R200c), and 2. since all that wattage is not necessary, something easier to transport.
My question is primarily a sound quality one, ie., 8" vs 10". I don't want my EUB to sound small and farty. Will the R25 do it or should I have an R40? ... ...

Just used my ears as judgement. On those faitly low volumes we usually play, it seems to help, but picking a couple mms forwards/back on a string can make more difference. It is just feels more "forgiving". Also EQ-ing properly is a must.Hmmm ... Did you do any software modeling to predict the results of the port plugging?
Guess stopping standing waves inside a cab is generally a good idea.Whereas we have many field reports that a bit of internal lining (not so much fill) does "tighten up" a boomy R100 or R40.
At those relatively low volumes we play, I dont't think it could damage anything. Idea was that the ports usually allow cabs to make low end air pressure more easilly, mids/highs should? project from the cone face anyways. But theese are not scientific experiments from me, just observations. The venerable "elderly equine" cautions against port plugging in another situation here.
