Fender Rumble Club

Cheezy Pete! That's a tough one, Blackie! It is definnly a V1 or V2 Rumble, unless you put that metal grille on a V3 an moved the controls to the front. Didja, huh? Now, less sea. The V1 gots black rubber corners an flour pedals aroun thuh knobs, while the V2 gots chrome corners. Which one yo's gots, now?

Yello, again, Spar. You young whippersnapper, you! Ya done gots me to reconnoirterin' ... ... near'bouts as I kin recollect ... it was around 1900 and 71, back in The Stones Age, that I gots my foirstest bass guitar an commenced ta playin' it the best that my previous 10+/- years on 6-string guitar would allow. How manys that? Like 21 minus 71, ... uh, carry the 5, ... a lots a years. An I'm still learnin', too!
.
Very true...the journey never ends! Anyway let me not invoke the wrath of the TB gods by going off topic:nailbiting:

Oh it's just one of Fender's 2017 FSR models, hence the matching headstock, which I gave the vintage treatment to with some chrome covers, a thumb rest, those 50/60s long-stem machine heads and a SD antiquity II aged pickup...

It looks great. Is that a black red black pick guard?

Don't worry too much about going off topic here. The Powerful will forget soon enough. :D

Where's G-Dog when I need him? How do I decode the serial on this-I think-1st gen R15?

Geeeez-Dog, I was axin bout the serial numero, pretty much had the V1 figgered out.

ICTI 07016427 is what's on the back.

Bought an amp cover for my Stage 800. Posting the pic here since it will work for a Rumble 500 as well. Will get a pic of it on my amp next time I go to our rehearsal space (where my amp is). Not sure how it will hold up, but I don't anticipate it getting a ton of abuse and it was cheap enough, so figured I'd give it a shot. The embroidery can read anything you want it to (up to the letter limitation).

Nice. Price?

Oh! Really? How was I opposed to see the serial number from the pic you posted?

5.3. It ain't a vintage tube amp built to last a lifetime. What kinda info do you expect that you can't find on your Rumble Club Wiki page?

G.N.i. But, if you must, try this: fender amp serial number lookup - Google Search
Good luck!

Taking inspiration from @Ravenh4wk my Rumble 210 and 115 cabinets will be getting some custom grilles...

(Yes, my mitre joints measure about 44°. Measure twice, cut once! However, they are epoxied and doweled, so they should hold nicely.)

Nearly done... new grilles for my R210 and R115 cabinets. I have elected to use a water dreaming theme, because I think it is a beautiful pattern and this is small acknowledgement of the traditional custodians of Australia. I just need to add some logos (currently in transit, but with international shipping in its current state I might not get them until sometime in 2023) and velcro.

You got it, Bobby! Kinda looks like a Hartke, but it says Fender Rumble right on it! @Bob Blore, you are now member #1398 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. And make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

Please tell us a bit about yourself, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular. Whatever your situation you're bound to fit right in here since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ...

Rumble On!

Hey fellow Rumblers. Advice, plz. Considering an additional Rumble. I am currently using an R200c. What I'm considering is an R25 (1x8) or R40 (1x10) for my EUB. The use would be for an otherwise strictly acoustic band (Bluegrass). Looking for something smaller for 2 reasons: 1. all acoustic so volume not really an issue, (and not wanting to intimidate the others with the R200c), and 2. since all that wattage is not necessary, something easier to transport.

My question is primarily a sound quality one, ie., 8" vs 10". I don't want my EUB to sound small and farty. Will the R25 do it or should I have an R40?

Thanks.

Tim

My R25 doesn't sound small or farty. Mine has the @JakobT modification.

Tim-iii!!! I have no doubt whatsoever that the Rumble 25 could do it for you. At the same time, I have no doubt that the Rumble 40 could quite possibly do it even more satisfactorily for you. Both could benefit from some internal acoustic lining material to improve the cab's tone, since neither come with any.

A. The 10" speaker over the 8" may be a significant improvement in tone to some users ears. The combination of bigger speaker and more power often tends toward better tone, in general. Search your feelings on this, balanced with the $100 price difference, if you can't actually try them both out. ;)

2. The controls are some the biggest differences in the Rumbles 15, 25 & 40. The 40 has the full control set of the bigger Rumbles. The 25 has many fewer controls. The 15 has fewest.

iii. The 40 weighs 3 lb.s less than the 25, despite being a bit bigger overall! It's true. And, I wouldn't think the slightly larger box would make any significant difference in the perceptions* of your Bluegrass friends.

The difference may not be as big as it could be from this comparison. But, then again, maybe it could be. You never can tell 'til you try.

*I love playing with a large Bluegrass/Country jam group. They have no problems with my electric bass guitar and Rumble Studio 40. One of the multiple-time state fiddle champs there has invited me to play more with him if I would get an EUB, 'cause the contests don't allow any amplifiers (period). I just dunno if I wanna make that commitment at this stage of my life. :meh:

Thanks for those responses, Fellow Rumblers! Turns out that I got to sample both the R25 and R40 side-by-each at a local store. Not with my EUB but with a Fender P, which I am familiar with its sound. I was quite impressed with the R25's tone. The R40 was actually everything I expected it to be but, given the lack of need for any significant volume, the R25 may fill the bill. Fortunately, the guy at the store said if I got the R25 and if it's not doing the job once I try it with my EUB, I can return it to upgrade to the R40. So I 'm thinking I'll give that a try. Kinda can't lose. I'll let you know.

I love my Rumble 25.
It’s the little engine that could!
