Fender Rumble Club

Vintage adds compression as well as lowering high mid and treble, yes warmth. The vintage kicks up the bass, rather much, though, so does the contour I find.
Do you find you turn down the bass eq when turning on the vintage? To compensate.

I found when turning on overdrive, it cuts bass by about 4:00, ie “4 hours.” So you turn on the drive then readjust, increasing the all important bass.
Well, in reverse order, I use the drive as 'mute'. I prefer a clean sound ~99.9% of the time.
My 'normal' settings: VINTAGE-on, BRIGHT-maybe, BASS-10, LOW MID-2ish, HI MID-1ish, TREBLE-10(clock settings); GAIN and VOLUME to fit the room.

Hey all, just last weekend I met another illustrious TalkBasser and picked up this beautiful Stage 800. I’ve only been playing for a few months but this gear from iagtrplyr has really helped catapult my playing forward. I look forward to talking with members here and learning more about this awesome combo! View attachment 4605272

Welcome to the club @KaiTheShisno. I got my stage 800 in Feb. of '21 and I have a nearly identical right handed jazz bass. I have since added the matching 2x10" fender cab. Enjoy yourself and avoid the rabbit hole of chasing tone instead of just playing. That's the best advice I could give after a year. I only own 2 pedals, so it was quite a leap for me and I spent too much time playing with all the new "toys" available to me.

A buddy had a Rumble 25. I thought it sounded good- and even used at practice a few times and I was surprised it held its own. Acoustic (amplified) guitars snd a sensible drummer! Heavy for its size, not much less than my Rumble 40.
Overdrive is either On or Off but it’s not all that unpleasant if you play with the bass’ volume etc!
If you can get it cheap- why not?

Do any of you have personal experience with both the Rumble 15 and the 25? I have the 15 for practice and have opportunity to pick up a 25 for cheap. I have the 100 and 200 for bigger things, but I've never tried a 25.

I think of the 25 as a legit bedroom amp that you can actually use for a mellow house gig- a 15 is just bedroom level/entry product to get you hooked :bassist::bassist::cool:!!

My R100 and EBMM SR5 are busy this month with 12 gigs in Florida from Englewood on the west coast to Hobe Sound on the east coast and parts in between. We kicked off this month last night in our home county at a retirement mobile home park in a large hall/club house. We played this hall twice before. On the first song, Jet Airliner, the room was rattling (bass drum in 18 inch subs) I noticed the fluorescent ceiling lights and figured it was the plastic covers. (see top right of stage photo) I am not sure if the drummer dialed it back or not, but thankfully I didn't hear it again. On break a guy was looking at the stage so I went up to talk to him and he said he played bass (he has an aerodyne Jazz 4 str) He says "Oh, a five string, Oh, a Music Man" He said it sounded real good. Then asked what size amp, while he noted I was just using it as a stage monitor. I told him about the Rumble and explained I always go through the PA so with 12 gigs in month I don't need to lug around a big rig, but I got more amplification at home if needed. The mobile home park's activities director provided us with a couple of bottles of budget spumante with thank you notes on the band table that had a card that said, "RESERVED FOR ENTERTAINERS" that was nice. The people had a great time. It was about a year ago when we last played here.
An annual private party today and back at fun tiki bar in Okeechobee on Sunday. Due to the pandemic we hadn't played this tiki bar for about 2 years, but started playing there four weeks ago. We were there last Sunday and the owner at that time booked us for this Sunday. So it's 3 out of the last 4 Sunday's we are there. We started at 3 pm last Sunday and everybody was eating and drinking and talking and when we kicked off with Take it Easy everybody's focus turned to the band.

Actually, according to the spec.s, the Rumble 25 weighs 21 lb.s to the 40's 18 lb.s!

Anyone run into a situation where a pot stops working? I’ve had my Rumble 200c from when they first came out and recently the bass pot just does nothing. Stays at noon no matter where you turn the knob. Are single pots replaceable?

Long time, no see, Lync. Welcome back. :D

On your Rumble Club Wiki page, in the Rumble Modifications section, there's a link to some posts here about "Cleaning Scratchy Pots & Switches with Deoxit D5" and a link to a thread about a "Volume Pot Replacement" with lots of good advice, including the very knowledgeable TB member, agedhorse. You might try cleaning before replacement.
.

I thought I had read elsewhere that the pots were sealed. This gives me hope and Lord knows many "broken" electronics have been saved over the years from contact cleaner. I will try and report back.

Awesome-same exact way I used my Rumble 100. Just a stage monitor with a nice tone out to the big PA via XLR. Now I use IEM's so I don't even bring an amp, but sometimes I still bring the Rumble since it weighs next to nothing.

Hey, there, Lync, Rumbler #127! How did your previous "stopped pot" situation, copied here, turn out? Enquiring (nosy) minds want to know.
