Fender Rumble Club

I don’t drive, and the city places increasingly strict restrictions on the use of cars in the city centre anyway, so I mostly go on public transport or use a taxi.

It’s no big deal, Oslo is not huge by international standards, and it’s easy to get around without a car, but it does mean that I bring only what I’m sure to need to a gig.

On the upside, I can have a beer or two after the gig. :)

I always carry my bass on my back, but it hangs a bit low for a comfortable bike ride, and there certainly won’t be room on the bike for a 210, let alone two. :)

But public transport is easy and accessible. I live downtown, so most gigs are a tram-, bus-, or metro ride away. My bass on my back (I use a Mono Vertigo with a Tick bag for small stuff attached), pedalboard bag and Rumble on a trolley. If I have to take the 210 as well, I splurge on a cab. :)

OK, time for a maxima mea culpa. Yes, I have been to Liechtenstein, travelling between Innsbruck and Zurich, but not on the Thalys from Paris to Köln. Liechtenstein is surrounded by Austria to the east and Switzerland to the west...a long way from Paris, Brussels and Cologne. And anyway, the Thalys goes nowhere near Luxembourg, which is bordered by France, Belgium and Germany. Sheesh.

And where was the legion of TB fact-checkers?

I plead dain bramage. :rollno:
Were you riding on...

I've never done that, but I went to and from several gigs with a combo[1] strapped to the luggage rack/sissy bar of my Yamaha XS650E and my Hagstrom strapped to the front of the sissy bar. Once in the rain, with garbage bags around the Hagstrom and a vinyl tablecloth around the amp. Got pulled over because the tablecloth was coming loose and covering my tail light. When the cop realized what was going on, he helped me secure it and sent me on my way.

[1] Ranging from a 5W kalamazoo Model 1 tube amp to a Lab L5 to Univox's answer to the Fender Twin reverb. The latter two made the bike handle like a drunken pig, but I got there.

That really is dedication to get to the gig one way or the other Milo..well done!

These days, we see a lot more cargo bikes in the city. Electric ones, too. Could be a viable option for amp transport, but there's always the weather to factor in when you're hauling electrical equipment.

They're kind of expensive, as well - particularily the electric ones. You could take a lot of cabs for the price of one of these babies:

Just looked up pricing on some of these types of bikes in the US. Saw an e-bike similar to that for nearly $3K US and another for nearly $7k!. Yes, pricey. I was surprised by how expensive they are.

I keep hoping for a reason to buy a 210 extension cab. No luck so far (read - no gigs yet. Band can't seem to get things going. Starting to look for another one.)
I've gigged my 500C by itself for 5 years now, but this 2x10 popped up on the ebay and I decided to take the plunge. Never needed it, but I'm glad to now have it!

Just borrowed this "stealth edition" Rumble 100 on a permanent basis from a buddy of mine who quit playing. I gigged it once at a private party and enjoyed what it's got to offer. Took the bucks from that show and bought a new speaker for it (beta 12a); that has really improved and evened out the sound. Now I'm dual Rumble equipped!

I gotta say also, I opened up the actual amplifiers on both my 500c and this 100, and it'd be fairly easy to put the power unit from the larger amp into the smaller combo if you so desired. Put a robust driver in and give it the full beans!

Just added a 2x10 extension to my Rumble family to go along with my 500 combo and 100 Combo. Rumble for all sizes!

Yo, Buf! That Stealth Rumble 100 looks amazing! Glad you're so well Rumbled up. ;)

A lady guitarist/singer told me she wanted to get a small bass amp fir her jam room. I sent her lonks to several articles comparing several brands and models (see the Rumble V3 Reviews section of your Rumble Club Wiki page). She ended up getting the Rumble 40.
