Fender Rumble Club

Spring Lake venue is still doing some remodeling so we are not playing there for a bit. Closest we might play is J & S Fish camp on lake okeechobee take Martin Highway out of Stuart. We were there about a month ago. I will let you know when we go back there, or better is Good Spirits in Okeechobee, a large tiki with larger stage area and not as hot as J & S. I will check calendar and let you know.
Thanks. I really do know J&S; I'll find Good Spirits. Both are reasonable distances for me.

I have a v3 500 combo, love it. Have an opportunity to buy a matching 210 cab for 250. Will it give me the volume I need for outdoor shows or should I keep using my GK fusion 500 and Schroeder 21012L rig?

5seven! Hola! @five7, you are now member #1508 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

5'er, if the R500c with the matching Rumble 210 cab don't give you the volume you need, nothing else will! In that eventually, perhaps, run the Rumble FX Send to the GK FX Return and play both systems together!!! :woot: [Not responsible for hearing impairment, concussion, internal hemorrhaging, structural damage and/or resulting infrastructure collapses.]

How about telling us a bit about yourself, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular? Whatever your situation, you're bound to fit right in here, since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ... ...

Rumble On!

Well, I did it! I pulled the trigger on the 500c. Our local music store had it and a 1x15 ext cab, it was sweeeeet when playing through both. I’m waiting to purchase an extension cab until I decide if I should go 1x15 or 2x10. The 1x15 added a little thumpy bottom end to the mix, which was nice. But I’m know a lot of folks say matching to have 4x10 has some benefits. Any thoughts?

Honestly, my mindset right now is that either would be great and to just wait for a good deal on whichever I find. Also, I used the amp at a gig last night and it performed swimmingly. Love me some Rumble!

In the Fender Rumble Talks section of your Rumble Club Wiki page, you will find links to "The Coupling Effect Explained" and "Why Stack Identical Cabinets/Drivers?", plus "Pros and Cons of the 210 Cab Versus the 115 Cab".

For the R500c I believe that is a very valid mindset! As the last referenced link indicates, there are pros and cons to each. So, do some reading and some soul-searching, while saving up your shekels for the right bargain when it comes along! ;)

My 5OO with Harley Benton 4x10

I've read that Rumble Gain and Master Vol. are different from other Amps? Could someone please explain the Gain of give me the link? Thank You.

The Rumble Gain is different in that the amp can work fine with zero gain, unlike some other amps'. The Rumble Gain is also quite interactive with other controls, as explained in the manual.

The Master Control also works with the Delta-Comp limiter, as explained in the manual:

I have a 115 with my R500c and I could not be happier with it. At the end of the day I don't think you can really go wrong whichever way you go, but I do like the 115 cab. See if Musicians Friend still has any open box deals. That's how I got mine for $100 off.

Hands down get the 210!!

Overdrive

I imagine this has been discussed ad nauseam, but can anyone share details of the overdrive section?
Do we know what style it is (Ie, soft clipping, hard clipping, transistor based etc.)?...

The block diagram suggests but only suggests) to me that it's op amp based. Fender doesn't share full details with most of the world. I haven't bothered to pull my chassis to look since everything works just fine.

Thanks for the membership #1506! I started playing bass maybe a couple months ago now and I am enjoying it very much. I have always loved the bass. I played guitar during school but life led me in a different direction. An old band mate contacted me a couple months ago and wanted to get together and jam and see where it would go. I agreed, now retired, but told him I wanted to play bass. Long way to go as I haven’t played guitar in 25 years but I am excited!!! Happy Fourth, Tim
