Fender Rumble Club

I would love to join the club I am in love with my Rumble 200 this amp is really, really nice and so versatile. I also wanted to know if I can safely add the 4x10 cab for home use only?

Hmm... When you say "safely...for home use...," I'm not sure there can be any promises there won't be broken windows, cracked plaster or danger from other household members... :woot:

Thanks for the membership #1506! I started playing bass maybe a couple months ago now and I am enjoying it very much. I have always loved the bass. I played guitar during school but life led me in a different direction. An old band mate contacted me a couple months ago and wanted to get together and jam and see where it would go. I agreed, now retired, but told him I wanted to play bass. Long way to go as I haven’t played guitar in 25 years but I am excited!!! Happy Fourth, Tim
Happy for you!

My 200 is my go-to amp pretty much wherever I play. The 100 records better with a Shure SM57 though. I keep wondering about the 4x10 also since there is one for sale locally. Sometimes I think I want it just because I want it. Not sure that I'd ever really need it. I've run my 200 with a Rumble 1x15 and it was amazing. I figure the 4x10 would be also.

If nothing else, it'll get the 200c up where you can really hear it.:)
EDIT: Have you ever daisy chained the 100>200. I have. Pretty sweet.
AFA the weight, the 410 is prolly a bit heavier than the 212. That they never built.

Hello, SirM! @SirMjac28, you are now member #1509 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

Yes, SirM, you can safely use the 410 cab at home with your R200C, just start with the Master cranked way down. It can put up to 100 watts into the internal 15" driver (down from 140 watts standalone), and 100 watts into the 8 ohm 410, which will provide much more SPL for deep, rich fullness. Pictures are encouraged, though not required.

I recognize your distinctive avatar from around TB, SirM, but please let us know a bit about yourself, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular. Whatever your situation you're going to fit right in here since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ... ...

I've daisy chained the 100 and the 200 at an outdoor event earlier this summer and it was amazing. They work together and sound like one huge amp. I don't really need the 4x10, but I offered $200 just because. I'm sure he won't take it which is fine with me. It weighs over 60 pounds. I recently played through a Carvin 4x10 at an outdoor event. It really put out sound, but I didn't like the Markbass head. I'm just so used to The Fender tone.

Thank you kind Sir, I would like to thank you and the induction committee for this incredible honor. I've owned a number of gear which I keep well documented in my Talk Bass details and my previous amp before the Rumble was a 71' SB12. I loved that little amp but after spending money to have the cab restored I declined to do any additional tuning to the head because there aren't any local shops and it's becoming more difficult to find people who can work on vintage tube amps. I was thinking about getting another SVT rig but for just playing around the house it's overkill, such glorious overkill . I looked at the Darkglass stuff but no shops around here carry any of that stuff and I wasn't sure if that was the sound I was after anyway. I kept stumbling on threads that talked about the Fender Rumble but my experience with the Fender Bassman T.V. Duo Ten swore me off anything Fender that amp is absolutely gorgeous in person but I couldn't get a decent sound out of that thing to save my life because it has that passive tone stack it really takes practice to figure it out and you have to forget all of your previous ways of adjusting tone but people who put the work in love them. I was at GC and saw the new Ampeg Rocket combos they are nice combos that sound really nice but at this point I was Ampeg fatigued and I wanted a different sound. I plugged into the Fender Rumble 200 and that was that. I was blown away by how good this amp sounded and the amount of tone variations is ridiculous everything I read in the Rumble threads was true this little thing is a beast. The thing that surprised me the most was the overdrive circuit because on the Ampeg Rocket the "Grit" overdrive sounded harsh and cheesy and most of these circuits on amps never sounded good to me but the Rumble's overdrive is so organic that I leave it on all the time it sounds like a tube amp breaking up. I'm very happy with this amp and it more than serves my purpose of playing around the house to my favorite records (Beatles) and my Cavern bass (Eleanor) is pleased also.:smug:

Can I daisy chain my 100 and 500 and how exactly do you connect it. Thanks!

Yes, 5er. Yes, you can. Simply run an instrument cable from the FX Send of either one to the FX Return of the other. The FX Send combo controls will completely control the FX Return combo, too. None of the FX Return controls will have any affect, not even the Master Volume.

Your Rumble Club Wiki page even has a dedicated Connecting Combos Together section for further elaboration.

Another way to run it is from the effects out to the normal in. That's how I did it when I played a big outside gig and it was great. Just something else to try.

That's quite true, Gregorius! I just gave the quickest, easiest method that first came to mind. :smug:

There's no danger of damage by running a Rumble FX Send to the instrument input of another Rumble. That's actually a great way to get two different amp tones from the same bass.

However, the FX Send signal could distort the pre-amp controls a bit, depending on settings of the first amp. So, you'd probably need to turn down the Gain, and possibly other controls, of the second amp, or both. Yes, all the controls on the second amp still work, but maybe not exactly as you remember, or expect, them!

Try it and see which works best for you.
