Fender Rumble Club

I think that's a really good idea and that would help the creative process quite a bit. On a whole nother topic, I'm sure people have talked about this before, but do you guys know if running the new Fender Rumble 2x10 extension cab into the Rumble 200 would be enough power to power the 2x10 cab? I know a lot of people like to pair the 2x10 with the Rumble 500. I was hoping to get some additional midrange by adding the cab, I'm really happy with the booming lows of the 15 inch speaker but thought adding the 2x10 would help add mids, punch, and some growl.

I've also heard most people usually pair the Rumble 200 with another 1x15 extension cab and it works great. Eventually, I think I'm going to sell the Rumble 200 to buy a Rumble 500 and pair that one with the 1x15 cab when we start playing gigs again.

Also, my reggae band played at the end of a religious music festival once at the Bo Diddley town Square in my town. I'm not exactly sure how we got on the flyer for the show. The singer was able to get us on because he was Rastafarian and from Jamaica. The Woman in charge of the show I think had a a crush on him or something also. But standing on the town center stage and performing was an amazing feeling I haven't felt for a long time.

Also, once my Guitar teacher took me out to Bo-Diddley's place. My guitar teacher, me, and Bo Diddley sat at his kitchen table and told jokes. I was going to help Bo Diddley build a website back in the day. Bo Diddley was one of the funniest people I've ever met in my entire life. My guitar teacher was friends with Bo, and some of the guys from Parliament also. I'm so glad to be a member of this Club. Thank you everyone for listening.
Without a doubt run a 210 into your 200! It’s absolutely wonderful! I have incredible power and the tone and the sound is to die for!

run SVTs SWR and everything in between. I loved hearing about your experience with Bo Diddley. Big Fan.

Aha! So, Greg, it seems you do have a Rumble 500!! Is it the combo? @Greg Pasquariello, you are now member #1516 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

So, please tell us a bit about yourself, such as your bass experience in general and your Rumble journey in particular. Whatever your situation, you're bound to fit right in here, since we have all kinds. But we all love to ... ... ...

Rumble On!
.
Thanks! (I also have the 40 that I use for practice/auditions)

Thank you so much for your feedback and the pictures. I'm glad to know you backup the fact that a rumble 200 can easily handle the 2x10 extension cab. I was happy to share the Bo-Diddley story also. Thank you

In the "book of words", it states that using the horn might introduce some unwanted distortion. It did and to me all distortion is unwanted. The only times I used the horn was if we were playing CDs through my amp on the breaks.
Thanks for letting me know about the Horn. Originally I thought it might help make up for any lost highs from having only a 1x15. I'm going to try it without the Horn and see how it sounds. The horn did sound better when I was playing using the aux cord on my iPhone. I think it might be that the 1x15 can handle the highs fine on its own and who wants unwanted distortion.

I got a Rumble 40 studio amp and while I love the amp it's just not loud. How can I increase the volume output? I put a Basslite s2010 and it helped a little bit maybe the 8ohm wouldn't hurt the power amp hard enough. Maybe a 4ohm eminence legend? Better yet is there a ice module that will plug up for more power? I put a set of jacks in the back so I could use the head and cab separately. Then I ran the head to 2 2x10 fender rumble cabs at 4ohms and it was plenty loud. I actually used it like that for a few months while my Ashdown head was being repaired. I also used a bam200 from the FX send to the cab and it sounded good with loud volume. Really wanna put a big ice in and maybe a 4ohm speaker. If it blows up idc as it's a spare amp and I just want to experiment. Maybe rob the module from a big rumble or can the module for say a stage 800 be purchased anywhere? They look very similar. I suspect the only difference between the 40 and 800 is the power amp section?

The only time I heard static or a little bit of distortion coming from my 200 was when I left the cord dangling in the effects loop. Don’t do that.

Aloha, double-naught Sixx! @Sixx 006, you are now member #1517 in the Fender Rumble Club. Congratulations and welcome. Put that number in your TalkBass Signature for safe keeping. Then make yourself at home here and on your Rumble Club Wiki page, the repository of all Rumbling wisdom and knowledge.

For discussions of bass modeling please use your Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800 sub-thread so as to keep this main thread less complicated. ;)

Well, double-naught, there was one recent user who found that editing the volume in the presets helped get the improved volume he sought. You might try that and let us know if it helps.

Thanks @G-Dog! ... ... ... Seems the main thing that needed tweaking is the modeled amp volume (not the power amp master). After messing with a LOT of settings, gains, the sound was always too soft. It never occurred to me the volume was just too low .
... ... ...
So word to new initiates of the Studio 40, the volume of some of the presets is LOW. To the point where I could barely hear fingers sliding on new rounds. ... ... To get the Rumble V3 tone I just needed to turn up the volume. Now I have the one-trick-pony hid inside the Pandora's box, hahaha.

I've not heard of a source for replacement ICE modules.

You sound desperate! You could just run the Studio's FX Sends into the instrument inputs of bigger amps for reinforcement. That's what I do with my Rumble Studio to my Rumble 500 combo for mono, or the 2nd FX Send into the input of my Bassman 500 for stereo.

Or, even simpler, why not just get a Stage 800 and use that for your loud requirements?

Please keep us informed of your progress.

i’ve read online somewhere that people felt that the peavey classic 50 sounded best w the foot switch plugged in, i’ve also heard of people recommending putting a cord connecting the fx loop send and return to improve sound. I tried on my classic 50 and I think w the foot-switch plugged in it helped. Has anyone ever heard things like this ? Is this snake oil?

I wonder if it could help my rumble also. Hope this doesn’t sound like a dumb question.

I dunno 'bout a footswitch being plugged in helping the sound?!? How would that work?

Howsumever, there are conditions (not always uncommon) where running an instrument cable from the FX Send of an amp to the FX Return of the same amp can help! The FX Return jack includes a switch to allow the pre-amp signal to proceed to the power amp when nothing is plugged in there and the switch is closed. But, when something is plugged into the FX Return, the switch is open and whatever signal is plugged in there goes to the power amp, often instead of the pre-amp's signal!

Occasionally, humidity and/or dusty environs can cause corrosion on that switch that can interfere with the internal signal crossing the switch when closed, thus causing intermittent volume drop-outs and/or signal distortion.

So, if a Send-to-Return cable does improve your sound, then you have a corroded switch in your Return jack. You can clean it by (gentle) multiple plug-ins & pull-outs, and a Q-tip with a very light amount of Deoxit on it rubbed on the switch.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the helpful information. I do have my amp in a super humid environment. But my amp is still working good so far. I just got it. I appreciate the feedback very much.
