Fender Rumble Club

Yes, Greg, that IS a great review! Thanks for sharing it again. (Really! I'm serious!) Reading it again and again never gets old for most of us Rumblers. And, yes, it is also included in the Rumble V3 Reviews section of your Rumble Club Wiki page under the link entitled "Best Bass Practice Amp (Group Shootout) on BassBuzz 2018". :D

And you're right, Greg, that the Rumble 40 isn't that much smaller than the Rumble 100, at least it doesn't sound like it! The R40 is just 3 lb.s less than the R100, and about 0.4 cu. ft. smaller. And they both sound like much more than their power ratings. ;)

I'd like to encourage all of our Rumbling brethren and sistren to follow GregT's example in this and share any Rumble articles you may find with The Club here. If your Wiki depended on me alone to find all its information it wouldn't have very much. It is all you helpful and sharing Rumblers out there around the world that make This Club, and your Wiki, what it is. And I most humbly and gratefully congratulate you, and thank you all, for it.

So, if everything I have read on TB is true (and why would I think otherwise;)?), a 100w amp is only 2.5 times louder than a 40w amp.

That 100w amp would have to be 4 times greater, or 400 watts, to be twice as loud as the 40w amp.

Since the 40 has a 10" driver and the 100 has a 12" driver, TB tells me the 12" would "sound" louder because it "moves more air". That doesn't sound too scientific!

If all of this sounds (;)) confusing, it is. Especially, when you add the volume of a drummer. He doesn't have amps. He just has what he has.

The only conclusion I can draw is, if your 40w or 100w amp isn't loud enough, add more watts or put your drummer in a sound proof cage and mic him, or worse and we all know what that is :laugh::laugh:.

So, what was the question again?...

I wasn't looking for louder.:) For the unplugged acoustic jam next week, the Rumble 15 is plenty loud enough, but the speaker rattles whenever I play through it. I've even tried a replacement speaker. It is a perfect size, and I just wish it were up to the quality of all the other Rumbles at a much lower volume. If I had a 40, I'd take it instead, but I don't. I do know the 100 will undoubtedly do a fantastic job! Still contemplating getting a 40 someday anyway. Everyone who has one seems to love it.

A 40 or a 100...look for more discounts from Fender. I managed a 100 for $227. and love it!

I woulda been playing my new Epi Embassy through my R40 tonight at a restaurant/lounge, but I skipped a gig to do some stuff with family.

Is anyone using a Darkglass Alpha Omega pedal with a Rumble? I picked one up today and so far I'm liking it. I'm not a thrash/doom/,metal player by any means. I'm actually more into that 70s fuzz sound (more Jack Bruce and Noel Redding, not so much John Entwistle). I had a Tech21 SansAmp BDDI which was ok, but I couldn't really reconcile the pedal preamp settings and the amp settings. I did like the drive in the SansAmp though. I'm thinking that the very "modern" distortion of the DG might play well with the old school Rumble sound, especially with vintage switch engaged. Im mostly towards the Alpha distortion tone on the pedal. Would be very interested and grateful for other's experience using this pedal with the mighty Rumble. Cheers all, Tom

My R100C covers arrived from Custom Amp Covers. They seem to be well made and fit the amps without being too snug or excessively floppy. The added side pockets are huge; they will easily contain power cords and connecting cables.
They quote shipping from Bulgaria. I’m guessing they bulk ship order lots here, where they get reshipped. The mailing label was generated from Braselton, GA. Postage was paid in DC. The shipment was from Bar Harbor, ME, through Braselton, to here (Austin, TX area), per USPS tracking. Not really puzzling, but you will find things a puzzle.

One amp in cover, one amp on cover.

I searched, but can't seem to find a club for those of us who use and love the Fender Rumble series of amps. Any interest?

I've been playing at home with my Rumble 30 since late January and it seems to me like this amp puts out a good share for being so small! Originally I was looking at the Rumble 15 but went with the 30 because of the extra input jack, more wattage, and I read online reviews which said the 30 would be good enough to play with a band in a small venue even versus the 15 which didn't have as much bang.

Hope to hear form some fellow Rumble fans soon! :D

So this makes me the founding member, #1? I feel this is a big honor for someone so new on the forum!
I took two rumble 15s and made a micro head and cab setup.

Wow, that was quite a journey those covers took to get to you. Glad they made it. Looks like they fit fine.
They do. I'm quite happy with them. Worth the wait.
I like these. I have the original Fender cover and it seems to have shrunken and doesn't fit that well.

I’m trusting these to hold up. I don’t think any other cover got more recommendations when someone asked late last year.

I sent them an email asking for quotes for covers for my Studio 40 and my NI S61 Mk II keyboard. They never responded.

Great idea about that Rumble 15 Head.
I made myself at home a Rumble 100 Head, with speakon connector and I beware of minimum 8 ohm load.
Your idea is brilliant and it brings my thinking about developing my design for my Rumble 100 head further.
Many thanks for that.

Cheers!
