It worked out, the patience game. There was a Rumble 100 in perfect condition on Craigslist last week that was only supposed to have been plugged in about five times. It was listed for $200, but I offered $160. Finally got the text this morning so I went and picked it up. Not a scratch, and the 2xRumble100 stack is amazing! The truth is, I couldn't resist after GonePlaid and others talked the 2x100 up like they did.
I doubt he can be any stranger than me.
Yeah, this is certainly one of the Stranger Things Club franchises.

Congrats on the great buy! My new R100 V3 is working out great for studio/DAW use and believe it would be great for jams or smaller gigs.
I don't miss my over-powered R200 and R115 cab (in studio). Even though I may not play out again, I would pick up a second R100 (at a good price), just in case and for insurance.
I am watching out for one

Amazing, indeed. It really does sound better than a single R100, which was already sounding good. While I'd love to have some of the old classics (SVT with fridge, Acoustic 360, etc.) those would require too much money and room, and I'd far rather move a pair of Rumble 100s to go play. And I'd rarely get to crank the big things, so what would be the point? Although at the height of covid, one or two would have been useful. I could have jammed with the neighbors, each frmo their own back porch! Assuming they had Marshall stacks, felt like hauling a rum kit outside, etc.

Truth be told, I bought my R100 for the Fender tone stack. At the sale price, it was a no-brainer. I had planned on only using it for its XLR into my DAW with Reaper.
To my surprise, with it's 12" driver, at low volume, it sounded great in my small studio and didn't upset the boss.
When I ran my Ampeg PF-20T through it, there was no turning back...classic tubey goodness, a perfect marriage of Fender and Ampeg tone. I realize it is not for everyone but, nothing is.
Listening to the others here, who are gigging with one or two, that is the path I am taking!
Friends - I did a search but whoa thats a lot of pages on this thread so a quick question - my band usually works up songs with just 2 acoustic guitars and me on bass. I need a cheap lightweight bass amp for that - we rehearse in a 15x15 room over a garage siting down close to each other. Would the Rumble 15 be enough to cover that? I play a recent version of the Squier Jaguar Bass H. I looked at the 25 but don't need/want the distortion and as I recall 10 extra watts adds very little volume. Thanks!
The Rumble 40 is going for about $230 right now. I use it for rehearsals and gigs in various venues and it's plenty. I don't have any experience with the Rumbles 15 or 25, but the 40 will easily cover your rehearsal needs and any local gigs you might end up playing. Not sure if $230 is within your budget or not. The 40 is about 18 pounds so it's pretty light as bass amps go.
I don't know what a Squier H is but it doesn't really matter. Distortion comes when you use overdrive or need to crank the amp to make more volume. If that is what you are finding, and your room size may increase, you need a 40 or 100 Rumble, IMHO.
Just for S&G, I took the R40 to concert band rehearsal last night(instead of the Bassman 25). Easier to move-1/2 the weight and smaller, definitely covered the hall. I use it for some of our small restaurant lounge gigs instead of the R100 turned waay down.
Rumble 40 would be great. If you gig with a larger Rumble, the front end is the same. I had a V3 25, but I don't recall the distortion you speak of.
I wonder if he's referring to the OVERDRIVE(/MUTE)circuit-which I use in MUTE configuration.
I had the Rumble 200 and always thought about adding a second 200 rather than just an extension cab. How are you plugging into the lower 200, with a 90 degree cable?
I sold my 200 a couple years ago but recently picked up a 500. I am wondering about doing the same thing with it.

Only way to really find out is to try it in your particular situation, if you're sure that's all you'll ever need it for. 'Cause, you know, the 25 and especially the 40, could easily do that and more!
I'm curious, don, what have you been using over the last 9 years after asking, basically, the same question then? Has it not worked out, or finally broken down? What do you use for gigs, after the rehearsals are done?
Either way, please don't keep us in suspenders so long again this time! Let us know your concerns and we'll try to help with them.
