Fender Rumble Club

Just played the 200, 500, & 800 back to back. I want the 200 bc it’s simple & lowend friendly. Just plain ol works without any fuss.

However, that 800 had me turning knobs for 15 min….. Loved it!!! And already doing math on what I need to sell to pay for it…..
It's awesome that you were able to try them all side by side! I have a feeling the 800 will be my next amp unless a really unexpected deal shows up on the used market near me. The extra features seem worthwhile enough that it'd bug me if I bought something else brand new.

Cool thing with Rumbles is that they're easy to come by, so I don't think you'll have trouble finding one later if you don't have the budget today.

Wouldn't be worth it by itself, but if you are going to make another big Fender purchase (mod shop bass, maybe?), can join Fender Play ($150) and get 10% off all Fender website purchases. Might be able to get a free month somewhere, and still get the 10%.

My Rumble 200, and 115ext cab. and my 2 (MIM) Fender Pbasses.
All Fender, 7250M Fender strings also. I love the tone I get, the 200 is a beast when the 115 ext cab is hooked up.
¡Rumble on, and read music daily!

Who can point me to a deal on a rumble 800 combo? Not the one with the screen tho.

Fender.com routinely offers 10% off your first website purchase with a pop-up on their homepage. Getting a new Rumble, with the 2-year warranty, is really the best deal.

So far, I have tried tape, vacuum, and a dental tool (sharp and already bent). The coward in me wasn't willing to be too aggressive with the pulling as the dust cap seems to be pretty stiff. Is it safe pull harder with the "needle" approach?
A dental tool should do fine. The dust cover is just a semi rigid coated paper, so you can pull a little harder than you might think. Don't try pulling it all from one spot. work around near the edges and pull a small to moderate amount at each point. You might want to try having someone hold the cone in place, keeping it from moving out or in while pulling.

Honestly though, the dents wont harm anything, just keep the grill cloth and frame on.

I'm running a tissue paper and white glue patch on one of the speakers on my 10" in my R210 V3. I colored it in with a black sharpie. The hole did remove the restriction designed into the speaker, causing the speaker to move too freely and distorting. I would have left it if it didn't cause the distortion.

This a problem ? Dust cap, not the cone. It's listed locally. Rumble 500

Pass or might be ok if it sounds ok ?

Mine was almost identical when I bought it. Paid $350 a year ago. Works just fine.
We have a nice set of old school stereo speakers. Years ago, someone had the grill off to see what was in there and a kid bashed a dent in the dust cover. The father tried to fix it but I told him to just leave it. There was no perceptible difference in sound.

He all, got a strange issue happening with my Rumble 500 head. When I switch it on, I can hear the fan turn on, but the power indicator light is off and I'm not getting any sound from it other than the speaker in the cab engaging when initially switched on. I know everything else in the chain is good, as I swapped in my friend's head and it all worked fine. Can anyone point me in the direction of what might be wrong? Thanks!

Well, the power indicator light being off isn't a good sign! All I know is try plugging an instrument cable from FX Send to FX Return. If that helps, then see the FX Return Jack Fix wiki for why and how to clean. If that doesn't help, then it's time for an Authorized Fender Service Center to have a look, not just any repair shop. ;-)

That sounds kinda like the situation I had a few years ago with my Rumble 40, when the power switch itself went bad. So I replaced the switch and it has worked fine since. Can't say for sure if it's the same with your amp. If you're adventurous, try the switch. If not, I'd follow @G-Dog 's advice and take it to your friendly authorized Fender Service Center.
