why do you need to have the bass in the mixer?

Yup, second one is on the way Taking him out to test drive more basses in a couple of weeks after he gets done going over what I have on the wall.

I was amazed the first time I took my 25 to an acoustic gig. Turned out it was a very large room and I am playing with 2 amped acoustic guitars and a cajon. I was using my Mike Kelly Dragonfly. When I saw the room I said why didn't you tell me we are playing a large (basketball court size) room? I don't have time to go get my 500. So I

Thanks WRM. That makes sense. I guess it only costs 10 bucks for the adapter to try it. I haven't had a reason to go past noon on the gain and about 10 pm on the master. I'll give it a shot and report back after practice.

If you have any kind of mixer you can put the mic into, that will solve the problem. You can control the mic volume with the mixer.

I put DR Fatbeams on my Jazz V and so far, I am just not sure. The Rumble makes it sound good, but I miss my TI flats which had a weak B string. Maybe GHS next time. Pressurewound or Precision Flats.....

On the up side, my new Precision IV sounds killer with TI Flats through the Rumble!!

I keep GHS precision flats on my P bass at all times. Nothing quite like them to my ears.

It is the sound of dark chocolate! I have a set of GHS Precision flats on my '76 Precision hot rod for 2+ years now. A brand new set of GHS Pressurewounds on my 2012 American Standard Jazz.

Not the first time I've seen that sentiment. I just got addicted to p with flats covering classic rock with one of my college bands.

My jazzes? I'm weird because I go with half-rounds on them for a split the middle approach.

I don't guess I do, I was just thinking that was ideal. It's sounded good without the support so maybe I'm just complicating this.

Yea, the guys I'm working with have a very basic mixer with 6 channels. Nobody wants to pony up for a larger board... I'm considering it myself because I have a few "projects" in the works and this is something I'm pursuing more than them.

I can't decide. I keep 2 SX P shorties and 2 SX J shorties -Precision flats on a P and a J and Pressurewounds on the other P and J. Total tonal choice depending on the gig, and I still don't have as much money tied up as I would in one 'good' bass!!!

Nothing at all wrong with the inexpensive basses. My number one is a franken P/J special I built out of a Squier body, a Squier VM 77 neck, and Geezer pups.
