Given the Rumble's tried-and-true Delta-Comp Limiter and clip detection circuit, I wonder what in the Sam Hell they pumped through that thing to kill it. Fender Rumbles are about as teenager proof as they come.
I'll bet this Eminence Legend BP_1525 is very close to the stock woofer. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]I'd take it and put a new 15 in it and stack my 200 right on top.Take out the electronics and seal it off. The perfect 200 extension cab.

subliminal message ... buy ... buy ... buy ...don't even give me any ideas. i have a lead on a fully functional rumble 200v3 for 250usd used. Doing this would get a full stack for under 400usd.
Believe me, if it were only an hour from here, I'd be in my car right now headed that way!don't even give me any ideas. i have a lead on a fully functional rumble 200v3 for 250usd used. Doing this would get a full stack for under 400usd.
Spilled beer maybe? kicked over?Given the Rumble's tried-and-true Delta-Comp Limiter and clip detection circuit, I wonder what in the Sam Hell they pumped through that thing to kill it. Fender Rumbles are about as teenager proof as they come.
Wouldn't this kill the amp before it killed the speaker?Maybe they plugged in a external cab that brought the overall impedance too low.
I would think it would blow an internal fuse first.Wouldn't this kill the amp before it killed the speaker?
We need @bnolsen to find out for us!I hadn't really thought of it before, but it could be the whole amp is fried & they just think it's the speaker.
Total Crap Shoot!
Not to be a richard, but this is not a very fair assessment. Two identical amps can sound worlds apart if one of them is elevated and the other is on the floor. The Rumbles are light enough to where you could have put the 200 on top of the 410 and the 100 on the floor without calling for backup.honestly though I think i did slightly prefer the tone of the 100 (on top of a 4x10 stack) over the 200 (on the floor).
Wow! That is a pretty radical setting. How did it sound out in the audience? That looks like a great addition to the Tone Pool.I just though I'd show the settings I used last night. I am running an American Standard Precision. I really enjoyed the clarity I got with the highs boosted. It was still a very full and round bass tone with a nice growl. We were at a pretty low volume because there were no drums. I was listening with my ears and not my eyes when I turned the knobs. Tweeter on and no buttons pushed. My idea of great bass tone has changed recently.

All it really did was add something I felt has been missing. Maybe it only would be my setting at the low volume. If you look at the Master, you can see my amp was barely rumbling. Still plenty loud. It made it possible to hear the notes so I could play bass to songs I have never learned or even heard before. I really enjoyed the upper end tone it added; it wasn't a trebly tone at all. I could still use the volume knob on my Precision to adjust for different things. I wouldn't use the same settings with my Rumble 100. Maybe it's a "15" thing? It retained all the things I love about a 15 and added something extra. Growl and punch.Wow! That is a pretty radical setting. How did it sound out in the audience? The 10kHz treble control is almost like a presence control (even though it isn't). It gives your top end AIR and makes it soar. The Bright button is a +10dB boost at 10kHz. At 3 o'clock you're running about a +7dB boost at 10kHz.I really enjoyed the upper end tone it added; it wasn't a trebly tone at all.
Oh yeah, @GregT has shared a shot plus plenty of older shots of Rumble 500 on top of a Rumble115 cabinet. Same size box. No visual difference.Love my 200 combo, thinking of adding the 115 cab underneath, can't seem to find any pics of said stack, anyone care to share a shot?
I agree. 15's in general and this custom designed Eminence 15 in particular has beautiful articulation and dispersion of the entire midrange. By boosting both the high and low mids you played to the strong suit of your Rumble 200.Maybe it's a "15" thing? It retained all the things I love about a 15 and added something extra. Growl and punch.
