Fender Rumble LT25, Studio 40 & Stage 800

You deserve to jam it at full volume.

Here lately, I've been daisy chaining my guitar player's Acoustic 100w bass amp through my effects loop, or splitting my signal with my Mimiq pedal for a wet/dry bi-amp. You've really gotta feel some of these models at concert volumes, my brother.

IKR?! They sound SO f__kin'* cool thru headphones that it really makes me wanna share!

Thank you, @Katoosie, and others, for questioning the reason for the Rumble LT25, Studio 4 & Stage 800 sub-thread being separate from the main Rumble Club thread. It brought to mind the time when I, and a few others, thought the new modeling amps were different enough to be considered the Next Version of Rumbles V4 and possibly have their own separate club! So, I posted that question with a poll for anyone to vote and/or discuss: Are the Stage & Studio the V4 of Rumbles?

This poll thread is now linked in both the Rumble Talks section and in the Rumble Stage & Studio Links section of the Rumble Club Wiki page. T
his Rumble Civil War was resolved peacefully and the Rumble Union still prevails. But, in the aftermath, even some staunch non-separatists agreed that the modeling discussions needed a, ...um, "different room", if you will, from The Main Club thread. The rest is Rumble history. :smug:

So, let us not forget our noble past, and how far we've come, as we continue to ... ... ...

With the above being said, I'm still searching for my sound(s). we're playing classic rock, but there are many varieties. Some should be relatively clean (Tom Petty), others somewhat dirty/trebly (Cream), and others perhaps in between (ZZ Top). Not opposed to a few different models/modifications. Looking for suggestions, since I haven't had time to test out in a larger room. Our rehearsal space is small and my home doesn't accurately reflect the sound I'd achieve at a club.

Anyone care to chime in with suggestions?

Owning both, I believe they are separate and distinct (beasts) and deserve their own thread if, for no other reason than to avoid confusion between the two IMHO.

I was just browsing TB and came across a mention of the Fender EXP-1 Expression Pedal, for use with the Rumble Stage or Studio amps. So, I went to our handy-dandy Rumble Club Wiki page for a reference, but LO! (yes, and Behold!) there was none! So, I added a link to the Fender product description of their EXP-1 Expression Pedal to the Stage & Studio Links section, near the footswitch links. But, it really needs more than that, especially since the Quick Start Guide and the Advanced Users Guide don't even mention our Rumbles or the Mustang GTXs. So, more links may be on the way there.

So, that's it for now. Stay tuned ... and ... ... ...

I do not know if this common but, I had a strange Blue Tooth experience.

This morning, I had my Studio 40, connected to my P Bass and connected to my DI (Scarlett) into Reaper on my laptop. Reaper was active in my Taskbar. I decided to watch the news on my iPad using wifi from my Xfinity receiver.

A few seconds after the news started playing on the iPad, the audio started playing through the Scarlett (level light was green, peaking to yellow), and coming out of my laptop monitors with a slight echo. Turning off Blue Tooth on the iPad or Studio 40 cut off the audio. Closing Reaper in the Taskbar did not help, iPad audio continued to play.

Guess I have to remember to disconnect Bluetooth on the iPad and/or Studio when not using it;).

The occasional observation, or two, here or there would be of interest, as you see fit, thanks. ;)

I have yet to run my Studio through my R500c at volume, though I still hope the chance is in my future.
.

So I've set up my current favorite tone from my Studio 40 on my Stage 800. It's Clean Focus with $-knob Flanger added pre-amp. From my little bit of experimenting in the house (haven't had the Stage out yet) it sounds identical.

Hey all,

I want to share a recent experience, and perhaps provide a warning so that hopefully others don’t run into this issue.

I have the Rumble Stage 800 and the matched 210 extension cab. We played a Sunday PM gig on Mother’s Day. Yeah, Mother’s Day. (It was surprising well-attended.). But, playing on Mother’s Day wasn’t the problem. ;)

When I got home and unloaded my gear, one of the little rubber feet (and the screw attaching it) on the Stage 800 was missing. I contacted Fender to see if they carried a replacement. They don’t carry parts for the Stage 800 since its manufactured overseas. I was disappointed by this, but it is what it is.

I ordered these replacement feet from Amazon. The measurements are the same as the feet on Stage; but the feet on the Stage are slightly tapered toward the bottom. The part is virtually identical to the feet on the 210 cab, which are not tapered. So, when I got the 8-pack of replacement feet, and noticed they were slightly different than the feet of the Stage, I decided to replace all of them on the Stage so they’d match.

Upon removing one of the original screws, I could see the problem that caused the missing foot. The screws that the factory used are barely long enough and they are more like a sheet metal screw than a wood screw. Honestly, they’re not really either; rather, some kind of hybrid that is ill suited to really hold onto the cab material. I am surprised I haven’t lost feet sooner. A brusque scuffing of the feet seems all that would be necessary to pull the screw out.

So, I replaced all of the foot screws with 1-1/4” #10 zinc-coated interior wood screws. The feet are now seated tightly, and the hold feels nice and strong like a the feet on a ~40 lb. bass amp ought. I would recommend replacing the foot pad screws to all, or keep an eye out for little rubber pucks laying around on the ground.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, @Droopy_TX, for sharing your rubber feet replacement experience. It has now been linked at the bottom of the Rumble Modifications section of the Rumble Club Wiki! This is a very helpful post that will probably be needed by some of our Rumblers in the future.

Thanks again for this, Droo. It's this kind of attention to detail that we often need in life. :smug:

I just picked up a Rumble LT25 to check out for the long weekend and I can't use the tone app. I hook up the usb to micro usb cable, then turn everything on and open the app and it just stays looking for the non-existent bluetooth.

What makes this even worse is that now I can't access the "Easter egg" patches either as Fender in their infinite wisdom decided to make them only accessable via the app.

Any ideas? Fender's support on the Rumble (and Mustang fwiw) LT25 is vague at best. I'm liking the amp a lot but if this is going to be a recurring issue than idk if I'm gonna pull the trigger on it. I'm savagely frustrated atm.

Anyone else go through this?

I've only used the Tone App through Bluetooth, never with cables. Didn't know that was even an option. Have you tried connecting to the amp without cables? I also found that if I registered the app first, I couldn't connect. Had to delete the app, install it again, NOT go through the registration process, then I was able to connect without issue.

Hi, Heavy. The Rumble LT25 doesn't have Bluetooth or wifi, like the Studio & Stage do. It's an entry level bass modeling amp, without those wireless features of the more advanced models.

It's my understanding, IIRC, that you connect a tablet, laptop or PC by USB to access the preset editing through the downloadable Tone Desktop App. I don't know if that Desktop app has the same connectivity as the Tone App on a phone for the Studio & Stage. Have you checked out the Rumble. LT25 manual here? I don't know if it addresses this, but it might help.

Maybe one of the LT25 owners here will chime in. Good luck, Heavy. Let us know how it goes.

Good morning G. Thanks for correcting my misunderstanding about using the Tone App with the LT25. Wouldn't want to send a new user down the wrong rabbit hole!

Ok, I’m using an android tablet and it downloaded the windows app but I can’t get it to work correctly after hooking up the tablet to the LT25 via USB to micro USB cable first. It just goes into seeking Bluetooth mode and hangs after I sign in with Facebook.

I already have the owner’s manual and there literally isn’t a single word on how to do this in it. The only thing it talks about in reference to the micro USB port is that one can hook up a recording interface into it. Fender could sure use some lessons from our good friends at Mesa on how to write a useful manual.:eyebrow:

Fender’s website is pretty scant on info too. So are there 2 different tone apps? One for desktop and one for mobile devices?:confused:o_O

Idk, I was having such a good time playing with this nice little amp over the weekend and now I’m just so pissed off over this nonsense I just want to tell Fender to shove their LT right up their a$$.:mad::mad:

It’s just so frustrating and especially as Fender has had ages to get their $hit together on this. Imo it’s totally unacceptable.

Are there any actual Rumble LT25 owners out there? Almost everything in this thread is Stage/Studio related.

I had trouble when I signed in first. Had to delete the app, download it again and NOT sign in.

If I'm reading between the lines correctly on Fender's website, it appears that the LT25 doesn't use any sort of Tone app because it's not mentioned in the description anywhere that I can see.
But then on Fender’s website it says that to get the “Easter egg” presets that were previously onboard via the “replace with...” option one needs to access them via the tone app. Note the last bullet point in the photo.

Otoh, it could be because my android tablet maybe doesn’t meet their system requirements? It downloaded the windows app and it seems to run.

Any computer techie inclined folks have any ideas/workarounds?

Are the Tone App and the Tone Desktop App two versions of the same thing or two completely different apps?

If anyone from Fender happens find their way onto here pls straighten this out ASAP. Android is also so prevalent now that it should have its own version as well.

It’s really a bummer that I’m probably gonna have to take a pass on this because I shouldn’t have to buy a new piece of comms hardware that’s going to cost more than the amp itself just in order to use its features. I just bought this tablet 4 days ago so another new device is out of the question for now.

I also have an iPhone 8 if that’s usable for this. Do they make a lightning to micro USB cable?

Yes, I’m grasping now.

Yeah, I wouldn’t expect a Windows app to work on Android. Don't you have a Invalid Link Removed pc to try those with

Yes, exactly. And the LT can only use the desktop app.

There's a few, but I don't remember hearing from any who have use the desktop app with it.

Sorry for the frustration.

I have no experience with the LT amp, but the fact that the app for this amp is called the “Tone ‘Desktop’ LT” and requires either a Windows or macOS system requirement makes me think it is not designed to be run from either an iPad or Android tablet, but from a PC or Mac only.

Edit: you beat me to it while I was typing, @G-Dog !
