Fender Special Edition Noir Precision Bass

I have not compared directly but I'm pretty sure it is, as a matter of fact it feels very similar to my MIM JBass and is very different from my Squier CV 50s. It's only 1/4 inch wider at the nut. The online description is Modern C. I was practicing on it last night, I think I'm starting to REALLY like it.
This thread bums me out.

You have my deepest sympathies, Wolf. I, too, had to sell off a stunningly awesome, all-black bass…a bass that I went to great lengths to get my hands on…for the exact, same reason…vital transportation.
It may be cold comfort, but who knows? You might be able to acquire another one someday.

It hasn't been out long,and the used ones for sale are still in nice shape at this point in time.I really want one but they aren't sold anywhere anymore
I literally missed getting the last one at Sweetwater by just a few days, so I broke down and bought a used one off of ebay. It turned out to be a great decision. I got a lightly used one in near perfect shape with a case for about $535. I know buying used online is hit-and-miss, but I did get lucky with this buy.
I got mine by a fluke about two months ago. I thought they were all gone, but walked into a local music store, and there it was. I said to myself that I didn’t need it, and put it out of my mind, but when I went in a month later it was still there, and I knew that if I didn’t get it, I’d regret it forever. So I did. It’s my main player now, I prefer it over my fancier basses, some of which cost three times as much.
All the talk about this or that new Precision bass but this is still the one I'd go for if I ever see one hanging up and I have money in my pocket.

Just have some drinks and then go back on Sweetwater and buy her! That is how I got my last bass 
Finally changed out the bridge on mine last weekend. Slowly getting her more black. Tuners are next!
Recently switched to Rotosound flats and I’m loving it even more. Still has some of the P Bass growl (though a bit toned down) and a much deeper, fuller sound (which I love). These seem to be getting very difficult to find out there recently so if anyone sees one, and is on the fence about buying it, take the leap. You won’t regret it.
2021- I found one with a black upgraded saddle, black hardware and ... wait for it... flatwounds with the red thread on the top. The price was very close to original retail price. Perfect condition. I am so glad I got it. I am so lucky!
