So have we entered the "noir" age? Is this Fender's answer to the Rickenbacker 4003 Noir?
This may be a good time to build up the most awesome collection of black basses!

Exactly!I'd like it more if it was a Jazz Bass. Why just the Precision???
Because Precisions are perfect in every way.
Why are you and so many like you so desperately evil. Why black? Why not bright vibrant color? Why Evil? Why not Good? Do you worship satan? Desire doom; gloom, and death? They are, but I already have one. I'd love a blacked out Jazz to compliment my blacked out fretless Jazz.

You must be thinking of Gibson EB-O's. They were desperately dead. Fender Precisions are extremely lively! Beautiful and wonderful in every respect. That's why they are the most recorded and well respected electric bass guitar in all history.I especially like the perfect dead spots a lot of these bases have

. It arrives tomorrow.Oooh pics!I'm so ashamed of myself but once I saw it I couldn't stop thinking about it. The latest batch, it looks like were done in Ebony and Pau Ferro and when I saw the Ebony one at Sweetwater, almost completely black from head to toe I lost all self control and I bought it (sob-sniff) I hate myself sometimes. It arrives tomorrow.
I took awhile to sink in, the fretboard choices were Rosewood or Pau Ferro but I think they (Sweetwater) didn't realize it was Ebony. I was thinking I have not seen Rosewood that color. Then it sort of dawned on me. They had the other one there and my Sweetwater rep called me this morning and he said the other one went too. They're out of them. Not too shabby. Ebony board would've been much nicer.
