2021- I found one with a black upgraded saddle, black hardware and ... wait for it... flatwounds with the red thread on the top. The price was very close to the original retail price. Perfect condition. I am so glad I got it. I am so lucky!

Emal, sorry for the delay. I'm not use to people paying attention to my posts.
I found them on the reverb.com site and found Paul with Guitar Maven, in Florida. Best deal ever, fast shipper. Total deal.
Before and After photo. Please excuse the lighting. The person who did my kitchen lights must also install airport runway lighting. Exact same fender screw yet not with the Fender price. $6 usd. I hope this helps.

It’s annoying, but it can happen to any bass, especially in winter. But an easy fix.

Once you do, you’ll find it an excellent bass to play. Mine plays as well as some of my basses that cost twice as much.

These basses need GHS Black Tapewounds for full effect. They look, feel and sound great.
