I was just saying what I would like to happen - not what I think will happen. I really don't know what will happen. Neither does anyone else. That's what makes it fun.

Whatever happens, it will give us all lots and lots to talk about, I know that. The great thing about this competition is that it's only once every four years and that makes it a rare treat and a bit special. The bad thing about it is that it's a whole four years until the next one.

Colombia (not Columbia, please) is a solid team and I agree they can beat Brazil.
Don´t know how they´ll handle pressure in these instances.

Brazil and Argentina are not working as a team. They rely on few players (at least 6 of Argentine players are playing below their standards and Brazil´s squad is probably their weakest ever) and IMO that´s a big con in these decisive stages.

I think we´ll see great matches between GER-FRA and ARG-BEL.
All of them are basically offensive teams with superb goal power.

I imagine no less than 4 goals in each game (although I don´t dare to say who´ll win)

He's been hypersensitive since entering the thread, but yes, I was a bit harsh. I'm sick of reading the old "Dude, if Michael Jordan played sockrrr, we would totally dominate the World Cup." That was his basic premise, and one that I've read a million times, always posted by someone who admits he knows nothing about the sport. I got a little carried away, but if that's enough to keep him from getting into footie, so be it.

Brazil in the final and maybe winning a sixth victory, this time on home soil, would certainly be a historic finish. And I think that the atmosphere at every game that's been played has to some extent been enhanced by the Brazilian support and we'd have lost a lot of that if Brazil had gone out early. But a first final or a first win for one of the other countries would be historic, too. The ideal finish for me would be for Holland or Belgium to beat Brazil in the final. Now that would really be something.

next tournament--four years from now--we'll be younger & hopefully faster w a different phiolsophy less drama or neg comments from klinsmann who said stuff like I don't think it's realistic or feasible to win WHO SAYS THAT
just think how usa would do w someone like gus hiddink managing the team
it would be more magic less conditioning taht's what too bad hes hired on w holland after this contest already

Guys, I don´t know if you saw this, but Mauricio Pinilla from Chile tattooed his hit on the post on the round of 16 match against Brazil.
