FIFA World Cup 2014

I know they need to play the game because u need to hand out a third place medal...
I really don't think they do. It doesn't happen in many other tournaments. As I said before, I'd scrap it.

The TV guys were talking about this game as if it somehow told us more about Brazil than we already knew. But this game told us absolutely nothing about Brazil that we didn't already know. The pundits have to talk every game up as if it were significant. This game was perhaps one of the the least significant games of football that has ever been played at this high level.

Hey there Bill - nice of you to check in.

You're right, but I can't see any of those 3 being bettered.

They'll certainly take some beating. But you never know...

It's not often you'll find me rooting for Germany, but tomorrow I'll be hoping they stuff a few corkers past the Argies.

May the best team (Germany) win.

I think Germany have been the best team and despite the cult of celebrity superstar players and as ably demonstrated by Brazil - this is a team game and needs a team performance.

Whilst Argentina understand this and are a more cohesive team than Brazil, Germany are at a different level for me and overall, have a higher standard of players.

Germany for me, but, in a massive surge of hope over experience, looking for a good game, worthy of being called a World Cup Final.

Brazil didn't flail quite so badly against the Netherlands, but they didn't put up much resistance, either. Does anybody think the goal difference Germany hung on Brazil compared to the goal difference hung on Brazil by the Netherlands means that Germany is that much better than Argentina, who didn't beat the Netherlands until after the match?

I think they failed miserably.
Their defence was shambolically non-existant, no link between defence and mid-field, who didn't seem interested in making themselves available as an outlet, no imagination or creativity at all, no striker who had any idea of where they should be or what they should be doing, not that it mattered because midfield were incapable of creating space or opportunity for them in any case.
Luiz is a liability, I bet Chelsea have burned the receipt for that transfer and initiated a no refunds policy.
I don't think you can compare the matches or performances in that way - Germany's early goal blitz on Brazil knocked whatever heart they had out of them and made it easy to score more.
Netherlands/Argentina neither team wanted to make a mistake or lose the first goal and they basically cancelled each other out in the match.
IMHO of course. :)

I totally agree about Luiz based on what we've seen in this tournament.

I just hope we get a decent game tomorrow. Too often the final is a real let down. This year the group stages and the next round were genuine class - I loved watching it - followed by four very poor QFs and one shock and a bleh in the SFs. Fairly standard World Cup pattern.

Let's have one more great game... (PLEASE... not too optimistic... whimper... no bang... another four year wait for a World Cup worthy of the name...)

If it was that easy, we could all be millionaires betting on football. The results you mention have zero bearing on the game tomorrow - none at all.

I agree with your opinión.
Although I want ARG to win, GER has been the best team in this WC.
Collectively they´re playing at a higher level.

If you think in other teams, you´ll find that they rely mainly on 1 or 2 players to be the key factor (Robben, Messi, Neymar, Pirlo, Suarez, James Rodríguez, etc) while
GER doesn´t have a rutilant name. Their playing is so compact and fluid that situates them in a different level.

IMHO, of course.
