Aw MAN, I LOVE playing that song!!! What a fun bass line!!! When it comes off really well, I just grin from ear to ear. LOL!!!

Its a really fun list, overall. I love the originals best, though. I can't wait to record them...they're really solid songs. They mesh in well with the covers, too. Perfect!

Yeah, its a rather "old" list. I'm trying to work up some newer rock, songs that would mix in well with the older ones, to spice it up a bit. The guys are roughly ten years older than I am, and they don't listen to very much stuff written after 1980 or so. (Well, the drummer does, but he tends toward the local and/or obscure...I like that, too, but the guitarist is new to the area and unfamiliar with a lot of that stuff.) So...I'm educating them, and picking things that will get their interest. Am looking forward to the time when most of the set is original. Man, that guitarist writes a heck of a song!

I am contemplating stealing him and bringing him into the new band. BWA-HA-HA-HAAAAA!!! Or, at least, having him come sit in with us when he's not got a gig. It'd be *great* to have him!

Hey, we're at Larry's Lone Star on Oct. 4. My absolute most-favorite place to play, and they're real jazzed about us coming, since its the home-town crowd and they've followed my music for nearly seven years now. It'll be a real good show to come to!

Yeah, the only thing missing is SRV. And we won't be doing any of Stevie's stuff. Guitarist just doesn't play that way. I'll miss playing "Couldn't Stand The Weather" -- what a great bassline!!! -- but that's ok. The originals alone are worth giving up playin' Tommy Shannon's basslines. And, there's always that local jam. I play a bunch of stuff in there that I never play anywhere else. Ha! :)

that sounds f******g great.specially holy diver,i still get goose bumps when i hear it.as well as ozzy and priest and maiden...here comes those bumps again.trumpet,drummer,guitarist and me we're all rockers at heart.i think we've seen between us maiden priest ozzy rainbow purple and srv.drummer told me he saw srv in 82' and he was truly amazing.might just try and persuade singer to give em a go.man i gotta get my dio cd's out.:bassist:

We are totally stoked to have a show in a venue near home, where I've played a *bunch*, and can get all my friends and fans from my old bands, as well as our guitarist's friends, and everyone from our local ice house will come up the road for this, too. And its nice pay, too!!!

We now have four original songs in the set, which we're very pleased with. Two are songs the guitarist had already recorded, but that we've put new arrangements to, and two are brand-spankin' new. OMG, I LOVE them!!! It took the old band months to get new songs in the set, but in this new group, we have four after being a band for a *month*!!!

I have two songs on which I am singing lead vocals. Just. Like. That. LOL!

My old band sent me to Jesus, and, my goodness, I am in HEAVEN!!! :hyper:

I see ya'll are do'en "Them Changes". Yep thats a good'in. Aint never got to do it myself, but a friend of mine does it well. He wears the 'WAH' pedal out on the "lead" guitar.

She *was* pretty hawt. And she got her friends dancing, and she'd brought a bunch of people from a party up the road, so...she's tops in my book! LOL!

I imagine we'll see her again on Saturday...we're playing Crazy 8's then, and that's where I saw her. Its their grand opening/just got our beer license party. If I see her again, I'll get a pic with her for you boys. LOL!

Aw man, I just LOVE that song!!! We'd done it, clean off the cuff, at a jam, before we were ever a band, and it came off really well. So, of course we had to include it in the covers. One of our best, I think. One thing I really enjoy about it is that it isn't one of your "standard" covers, you know? I like to play the deeper cuts, and not always the "big hits". Makes things interesting.

Hold the "squeeze" until your lungs actually do? Cool, man!!!

I sing it as if Marilyn Monroe were in a rock band and could project the sexiness of "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" into the tune without losing power. LOL!!!

It amazes me how much breath control is needed to sound both breathy/sexy and still project. Man-o-MAN!!!

Holy Diver with horn section...DUDE, that ROCKS!!! Too danged cool fer school, man!!!

I hope your singer will gain a sense of adventure and try these tunes y'all want to do. It would give you an edge, I think. People are always impressed when the unexpected comes out all tasty. ;)
