The EHX Enigma Q-Balls is, IMHO, a great filter, expecially for "very active" basses; but, to get great tones, it's necessary to be confident with the controls themselves and control's interactions.
Great quality and very flexible: IMHO, it's the best EHX bass pedals (maybe also because it seems to be the hand of Mike Beigle, Musitronics pedal father).

Even if I've never tried one, I think it could be second only to the Musitronics MuTron III (no HAZ).

Powering all the pedals have been a very hard issue to solve: after some attempts and A/B tests, I've noticed that a lot of Powering Units (such as T-Rex Fuel Tank Junior, T-Rex Fuel Tank Chameleon, Pedaltrain PowerTrain 1250, Vinteck Lover PowerSupply V2 etc.) made noises/hums in the entire loop chain, even if with all the pedals bypassed and even if almost all the pedals are TrueByPass!

So, in the end, the only way to have no noises/hums in the signal chian is to get dedicated power supply (Roland AP-7 Jet Phaser is powered by x2 9V batteries... very vintage or, in Larry Graham's words, "antique" :D ... and this is the reason why I have a green cable to go from the Chunk Systems Brown Dog eventually directly to the amp, in order not to link the Jet Phaser in the signal chain and to optimize batteries life)

I've also to say that I've not tried some multiple power supply like VooDooLab, Decibel Eleven, PCioks etc.

So, now, the padls are powered as above:
- Boss OC-2: EHX 9,6V _ 200 mA
- Musitronic Mutron Octave Divider: Zoom 9V _ 500 mA
- Electro Harmonix Enigma Bass Q-Balls: EHX 9,6V _ 200 mA
- Akai Deep Impact SB-1: Akai 9V _ 180 mA
- Chunk Systems Brown Dog: EHX 9,6V _ 200 mA
- Roland AP-7 Jet Phaser: x2 9V batteries

The surface covered by all the single power supplies is a bit bigger than the T-Rex Chameleon one, almost the same as the Pedaltrain PowerTrain 1250 one and certainly smaller than theVinteck Lover PowerSupply V2 one. ;)

I've tried my friend's OneSpot: it makes sensible noise/hum right with only the Boss OC-2 linked... :(
The other pedals that eventually I would add could be:
- Musitronics MuTron III
- Musitronics Phasor 2
- Darkglass Vintage Microtubes
- MXR Phase 99

... but I don't need them at the moment at all. ;)

I would like a Jet Phaser. They are a bit special.

I like the look of your board for a single-channel board, but I would need more crazy pitch effects and more crazy modulation. And it wouldn't be very easy to transition between different sounds.

Nice. You got all the funk elements covered on that board. I have the Future Impact on my funk board. It's amazing. My octaver of choice is the Cog Effects T-16, my two envelope followers are the Mu-tron Micro-tron and Broughton audio Josh Wah, my fuzz is the Broughton Audio Bass Box, and my phaser is the Spaceman Effects Voyager Deluxe. I love funk pedals cuz I'm in a funk band. I also use a compressor (RMI Lehle dual compressor). It's an awesome thing that funk bass players have so many choices. And more coming all the time...It's an addiction.

The Future Impact I is a great device, capable of literally thousands usable bass synth sounds.
If you set it right (quite simple), it will never sound thin.
It also could be used as distortion, eq, octaver, delay, flanger, chorus.
It has 99 slots where you can save and recall your sounds.
It also have the original Deep Impact sounds: I had got it (then sold): the emulated DI sounds on the FI are 99% equal.
Best bass synth pedal on the market actually.

I'm looking to downsize my board as much as possible, in your opinion can the future impact do the OC2 sound convincingly? I want one pedal that can give me that, a filter and a early 80's synth bass tone. Thank you

Could you post a pic of the AC strip your 9v adapters are plugged into? I too am using 9v adapters to avoid hum and such. But locating a power strip that accommodates 4 to 6 9v adapters without a lot of wasted space is an issue.

It has been done "morphine dream"....the guy who made it is going to make a smaller more affordable option soon from my understanding but nothing will ever sound like the original roland jet phaser nothing bad about it and it sounds so warm and fuzzy I just could not use it enough to justify keeping it. Its unique and that's why it's so expensive but useful is another thing. Im my opinion a cheap phaser and a fuzz will get you close enough
