Over the years I’ve worked hundreds of doubles, even a few triples. Tiring, but fun. When I can, I’ve set up, or at least placed, 2 rigs in advance - usually one gig is louder than the other so it’s easy to decide.
I turn them down if there’s significant travel or less than 1-2 hours between, or if I’m to provide PA for either. Otherwise, it’s fun and lucrative. It’s nice that gigs are back with such a bang, and the right double is still welcome, even as I stare at age 70 on the horizon (two already this summer).
Audiences seem way more appreciative for now. Enjoy!
