First time I've got to say this about Ibanez...

Yes, while Americans will say the same thing, comparing Cadillac to Chevy or Lincoln to Ford.
Think about what you can get for $7000. A 1962 Fender J. Or 7 REALLY nice basses of various brands and styles (that's probably the way I would go). Or one awesome bass with a hell of an amp setup. The list could go on and on.
Someone buying an Adam Nitti Signature is not looking for a 1962 Jazz, or may have one already.

True. Just stating a few of the hundred BETTER options, IMO.
Amazing player, really nice guy, and he races spec-BMW series. Used to do P-cars as well.

I'm on my 3rd Ibanez bass... simply because I like the "value" aspect and the playability. Current one is 5-str BTB (BT1504E).
What has stopped me from going further up their BTB/SR/ line is that there doesn't appear to be much difference in features.. same pups/electronics package, slight changes in nut, other hardware and woods/finish. Not worth the extra $$
I doubt the prod version of the Nitti Signature is something I'm likely to Jones for either...

Indeed, in your opinion those are better options. Thank goodness we can chose what makes us happy for ourselves.

It could be a Jesus signature series bass it's still an ibanez ... Ibanez .... They do make some nice basses and cost efficient for what ya get for sure !

Iirc the Ibanez neck through DWB-1 sig listed for $4500 and actually retailed at $3k back in the early 00s.

Indeed. I've talked with him a few times both at Victor's camps and at BPL. Invariably we ended up talking more about tracks cars than basses. I think he is (was?) doing e30 spec racing.

At least with the Adam Clayton sig basses they may sell them to a diehard U2 fan.
This is the absolute truth at the moment they fork over the cash. There is always the possibility of an object's worth changing tomorrow, next week, next year.
