FLEA-Best bass player ever???

Of course it's just what people who like RHCP think. Flea is talented, but the only thing that would really make him significant is that he brought good bass playing to the mainstream. However, he's not "godly" or whatever.

It's not that we hate him, but so much idol worship is put on him I can't stand him now. He is not a god or anywhere near it, but some people (amateurs, I'm guessing) put him up on such a high pedestal it is disgusting.

i think flea is better than fieldy by far but thats my opinion, i dont think there is any godlike bass player simply because everybody will have there preferences of what they think there god-like bass player should be

THAT is funny stuff, and if it wasn't offensive, it'd be quoted for posterity!!!! :D

For the record it's funny just 'cause... well, read it! :p That being said, I do think Flea is a highly trained and accomplished musician. Nowhere near the best in any category to ME, but that doesn't take away from his accomplishments.

I wouldn't say Flea is the greatest, but he IS good, some of you are giving him no credit whatsoever. I like Flea because he looks and sounds like he is in his favorite place in the world when playing. He did slap the crap out of everything in his early days, but he matured into more eloquent things later on. And after 20-some years of being a Pepper, he still has that kid-like enthusiasm. He may not be "the best", but he's doing what he loves and more power to him. :D

He is great... at least in studio. Live?, well... when he wants to.

Now, the best?... the number 1?... no no, I'm the best bass player ever.
