Flying with pedals

Oh, now I get what you really mean.

Jimmy, put down the tequila bottle and the joint, you CAN'T FLY with PEDALS. That is a BIKE you are on, not a plane, you cannot FLY !

AU CONTRAIRE!

Another vote for Fedex. A good option if you have someone who can receive the package; not a great option for international flights, where you might just as easily have things getting broken or "lost" in customs.

Good luck checking that B-15! :D

I've my flown to play somewhere twice but each time I simply carried my bass onboard in an SKB case (with TSA locks) and stuffed the required pedals into the case with a One-Spot and daisey-chain cable. It was a hassle when TSA opened up the case and inspected everything but I had a 1st boarding group ticket and stowed everything onboard with me.

Unfortunately the current climate of air travel makes even the most innocuous of travel a pain. I'm guessing you'll have a heck of a time trying to carry that on, but I also agree that checking it is a real crap shoot, even with TSA locks on it.

How sad is it that shipping it to yourself and back is likely the safest, most cost effective option. :/

Number one, I'm not paying any money on my own. That's completely out of the question.

Number two, play the gig without pedals? Did I not make it clear that this gig requires pedals because of the upright? Even if I weren't bringing any fun pedals, I still have to bring an EQ and some sort of switcher, not to mention the wirelesses.

Number three, as all your posts with different suggestions indicate, there is no good way to fly with pedals ;)

I say pack it all with your checked baggage. I've done this many many times, never once had an issue.
I check my bass, merch, pedals, pretty much everything except my passport. never once had a problem.

lots of issues come up if I try to take any of that into the cabin with me. that is when they want to take everything apart to find the drugs.
