[Just Thumpin']

The idea has definitely been discussed at length and let's just say that there will not be anything else in 2011, but who knows what the future holds....

I think the VW is a great idea. All the Victor Wooten fanboys and fodera geeks that afford one :cough cough:: me), this opens a new option. I'm curious though, could this model, if proven successful, open doors for new options? Since they are made in batches, could it be a possibility to make them as "blanks." An alder body maple top bass seems to fairly popular, so this could be used as a template, and customers can pick pickups, finish, and inlays from there. This was just an idea I had. The only problem is there is alot of upfront cost I guess...

Agreed. The treble is so much smoother sounding on this one. This bass has that 'Fodera' tone in the high end that I love.

this is not a real weight, but think it felt about normal for a double-cutaway fodera 6-string when mike handed it to me for a minute.

not scientific, i know, just saying it's in the normal realm for that kinda thing.

Most 6-string Foderas I've tried are in the 11-12 lb range, fwiw.

This is the Yin Yang for the rest of us, and it's pretty flipping amazing. In terms of playing and feel - you aren't missing much with this thing.

Just seems a shame to paint on such a nice top(the bit that is visible really is VERY nice me thinks).
And who knows how long the paint job is going to last...

Since the black paint is under the clear paint, it should last a VERY long time. When was the last time you wore through the finish on the front of a Fodera? That said, someone like Vic will probably wear through it -- have you ever seen recent pictures of #37? LOL!

I thought the same thing, then realized the 6 string neck and over sized head stock are probably making the body look proportionately small.
