Fodera Club Part VIII

I saw the Fretspot factory tour video (nice video btw). At 9.27 in the video there's a neckthrough with a toneblock glued onto it.

How does this differ tonewise from the other type of neckthrough, where it's the same wood as the neck that goes through the entire body thickness?

Does it make any difference construtionwise ?

that IS a neck-through neck - the neck gets "thinner" direction lower strap-pin so from the beginning of the body it has the Toneblock under it - so you will not see the neck/stripes from the back on Foderas...only from the front when there is no solid top that covers the neck-through (or from the side where the lower strap-pin is)

I will order a new Bass tomorrow :hyper:

Jason, be aware of my call :hiding::help::hyper::cool::D

Feel free to place an order for me too! :) I am saving my duckets to place my order soon. I am torn between an Emperor bolt on 5 or an Imperial 5.... Both will have ash bodies and maple boards, but if I go emperor I don't know whether it will have duals or singles, but the imperial will def have duals. Thoughts? Advice? I want that tear your head off Marcus slap sound.

Sounds like you want my bass posted on ebay, the best Marcus sounding Fodera I've ever owned! Actually the best sounding Fodera I've ever owned and I've had about 20. Sticking with four strings for now though.

If that's the sound you want than get a bolt on with single coils. It'll kill.

Wait a minute....I just did some digging on a hunch. Someone had told me (Steuart maybe?) That Joe Gallant was living in Vegas now....is that you Joe? If so I'm a fan. Been listening to you for years. I love what you do. For that matter, seeing pictures of you, Anthony Jackson and Steuart Liebig years ago is the reason why I love that old AJ double cut so much (as well as getting to play Lucas Pickford's old bass)....and then hearing the tone from you three....huge. Great memories from being a teenager and listening to your records. I hope that you're well and that you're playing some great music these days.

Thank you, em!!! awesome, and very much appreciated. seriously.
yes- i've full-circled back around after a filmmaking stint, and am hitting it with a passion that reminds me of my first days cradling a bass guitar in '72. some great new sounds and projects in the crucible, some new releases coming out soon, upping my own ante as best i can, and learning all the time. i'll keep you posted on the new stuff as it develops.
be well
