I doubt the 200mph stories. I've got a 1000-hp turbo mustang and I doubt it's hitting 200mph with that aero. But maybe.

true that. they do have the prius v, but it ain't that big. highlander hybrid seems lame. toyota had a previa-style hybrid that they didn't bring here (lame). [yes, i know too much about this.]

Not to go off-topic or anything, but does anyone have favorite gig bag recommendations? I just noticed that neither my Mono double bag nor my Protec really handle angled headstocks particularly well. With the double packed with YYD and Deep 5 (also angled) it seems like they are pushing on the headstock.

The Access one that came with the Skjold seems to be a bit better in that regard. I'd rather not go back to carrying cases...

Car & Driver says in the February 2012 issue that in Engineering testing, the car has "already achieved 202 mph" and 0-60 in 3.7 seconds. There is a discussion about how they modified the front fascia for aerodynamics.

Okay, I'm done discussing cars here, before somebody calls me on it...

Todd,

I REALLY don't like gig bags, but I also don't take my guitars/basses out of the house like you do. That said, the F Bass gig bag that my BN5 came in seems to be pretty decent. I don't know who the manufacturer is, but I can look it up. Tom7 probably knows...

What about incase? Mine had a movable neck thing that seemed to help that out.

I've got a leather Reunion Blues bag. I find it to be terrific and the bass is very protected (for a gig bag). My Fender Jazz barely fits into it (it's a little longer because of the headstock design). But the Monarch fits in really nicely.

I have a Mono and an iGig double and like the padding of the Mono but it doesn't hold a lot so I use a Mono DJ Bag for most of my accessories. The iGig has a LOT of storage and is a looser fit on the basses but doesn't have as much padding and I consider them both to be medium duty bags at best. I LOVE the Sadowsky Portabag and wish he made a double I would be all over it. I went through several zippers on the InCase but it is a good bag as well. I use the Mono about 80% of the time for what it's worth...

[Laughing!] I actually have more Fbass gig bags than I have Fbasses, so I'm embarrassed to say I don't know. I grabbed one that I had handy (I just got another new F on Monday and the gigbag is still right here in my office), but I couldn't find any markings letting me know who made it.

Donovan is the guy who knows that stuff well.

BTW, the reason I have more gig bags than basses is because Fbasses ship with gigbags, and I've bought a double gig bag and soft cases as well. I don't trust gig bags in many situations including a packed van.

Oh, we have a 15-seater van as well (we have 7 kids); I figure taking everyone at once in one trip is more efficient than taking 2 or 3 cars to the same place. BTW, my wife drives a blue Camry Hybrid.

I think it would be cool if we could buy custom basses built from reclaimed wood.

What do you think, Jason. ;)

hey.

i hate to break away from the pious discussion, but to your question about gig bags: i've used both fodera (undercover) doubles (i actually have a very unused blue double if you're interested in seeing it--i'm in culver city). i've also had good luck with renunion blues singles and doubles (the double i had was a little unusual in that i had i had to put the basses in backwards).

Hi Todd, I've been looking for a new gig-bag myself. The one I'm currently using is on the way-out, the supporting material around the handles (both side and front) is about to giveway. After doing some research I came across the Fusion F1 gig-bag. I'm thinking of getting one.

It looks pretty sturdy, has good all-round protection and it's waterproof. They also do a double gig-bag but there's little info on that on. Let me know what you think.

is nobody driving a Volkswagen ??

I drive a Golf Plus - it's not the most beautifull car but it has a nice trunk and even on the second seat row you have space like in a Mercedes :smug:

plus the durability of cars made in germany is sth. that makes me feel comfortable ;)
