Fodera Club Part XI

my 2 cents. My Monarch has gold hardware, the Imperial has black. It all depends on the wood and taste. Looking through the newborns, they are all stunning and it's great to see the combo's people come up with.

Hey man, I dug the album sampler! Nice rounded bass tone on that Emperor too! Sounded really nice in the overall mix.

On a side-note, I've read a little over a hundred pages of your Fodera Club threads and enjoyed it quite a bit, I wish I could officially join the ranks, but I've yet to even play a Fodera, even though the majority of my favorite artists use Fodera's, and I love the tone that they bring to the table while wielding such beautiful works of art that are, at the same time, fully functional.

I have quite a long time to be able to get a Fodera in my lifetime seeing as though I'm only 17, and I'm considering starting my very own Fodera Fund where I set money aside for the possible future-built Fodera haha! I won't be in the market for a Fodera any time soon, but when I am i can't wait to work with Jason and the shop to tailor an instrument to specs that will make me melt when I play the bass!

P.S. Curse Kansas and the overall lack of Fodera's!!! IF anyone in KS has one, I'd be really appreciative if you'd let me try her out!

I guess I used the term because it belonged to, or originated from California, therefore assuming it could be called Californian...Wrong!

Thanks, myself and my German or is that Germanic brother stand corrected. I was once told by a friend of my father, an American attorney, "You speak well, but you really need to improve your American"..LoL

Shamed as I was last week, I broke down and cleaned the fingerboard AND polished up the frets, increased the gas milage by at least 3MPG.... Also I can see the reflections of my hand in the fingerboard when playing, which is nice.....

Just for the record...I am also part of the Gold on some and Black on others crowd. Largely because of the way the tops look on my Monarchs I am split at 8 gold and 4 black.

In terms of the Custom Shop Bridge, in the middle of last year we switched to the thinner bottom plate to allow people who like extremely low action (I am one of them) to get it WITHOUT having to sand the bottom of the bridge, a saddle or a screw. Ever since I met Joey and Vinny, that always seemed like a kind of a crude fix. The new "low bridge" fixes this. If you have one of the older Custom Shop bridges with the thicker bass plate in front (as pictured about in Shape 101's post) and it's causing you low-action grief, the new bridge is a direct replacement that can easily be swapped out in 10-15 minutes (including set-up).

ssems the older guys like the gold. Maybe its what we grew up with or maybe it's the way it looks with our gray hair for those of YOU that still have hair....:bassist:

is the neck pitch different on the elites,deluxes and bolts or something? on my old emperor elite (made in 2001), i could straighten the neck to no relief and drop the saddles to where they were laying on the frets with no problem. i never had any issues with that bridge.
