is the neck pitch different on the elites, deluxes and bolts or something? on my old emperor elite (made in 2001), i could straighten the neck to no relief and drop the saddles to where they were laying on the frets with no problem. i never had any issues with that bridge.

Same with me. I like the custom shop bridge better but, even with the cheap bridge, I could drop the saddles lower than usable.

For those who didn't watch this, Labex has been recently endorsed by Fodera! :)

He's a very good friend of mine, so I though I should post this again as it didn't get many comments :)

Great video -- totally worth watching.

Oddly though, did actually use the product that the video was endorsing? It looked like he left it at the nut to me... Hard to tell though.

I was at his studio during the recording of this song, he was using it almost all the time, except for the part where he had to play some harmonics..
I guess he forgot to lower it down the nut in the movie (looks like he had to hurry up a bit, as you see, snow and not wearing too much cloth on him :smug: )

It is a very handy, adjustable little fretwrap, that helps removing some bad noise (got one myself) :)

For other products seen on this video, there's the stadium bag, and other stuff NOT seen on this video (for his gigs and stuff)

The recording has been made with his Fodera YYS, his favorite bass so far, and looking forward of getting his signature main Fodera bass now :bassist:

Thanks for taking the time for watching this, as you see, it is worth watching it, for Jaco and fingerfunk lovers, this is amaizing! :bassist:

I tried to look for his CDs in Internet but no luck. May I know where to buy? I mean official cd not cdr. Thanks.

Regarding our black vs gold, here's mine after a recent swap. I like the black but can see where the gold compliments the top. The black just suits my style better.

BTW, Robin and I traded his gold for my black hardware. Unfortunately, his headstock is 2+3 and mine is 3+2 (so we each need to buy an extra tuner.)

I took the opportunity to pick up a Hipshot Xtender key from Musicians Friend. What a joke -- They sent me an Xtender that was so obviously used that it wasn't even funny. I'll post a photo later. It came in a destroyed package and there is, literally, rust on the threads.

They're going to exchange it and cover shipping but, really? How does something like that slip by? It doesn't give me a ton of confidence in those guys!

I ordered a Moody's 4" black/tan leather strap from Amazon that was fulfilled by MF. The order was correctly sent to MF. Then shipped a 1" wide vintage guitar strap. I had to argue with them and send a dozen emails to get them to reimburse my cost to ship it back.

other than an occasional great deal MF is usually a train wreck avoid. FWIW i got a new Ric 4003 for $1060 last year which is a great price and it is actually a decent bass compared to prior years at Rickenbacker. will probably give it to my son in a year or two if he stays with it. so he stays away from my foderas.

I just changed my gold hardware for black so I've a gold Fodera Hipshot d-tuner for sale. If you're still looking for one let me know!

I use a markbass little mark II and a few years ago I ordered a markbass gig bag for it. I ordered it from MF and it seems like it was on back order for a few weeks. I wasn't in too much of a rush to get the case so I was fine with the wait. Then one day I got a box from MF and inside I find a cheap clarinet instead!! (probably a $200 plastic clarinet)

I had to explain it on the phone to three different sales people before they finally set me up with a shipping number to send the clarinet back to them. Then I had to wait another three weeks before they sent the gig bag.

How does a gig bag turn in to a plastic clarinet!?

ROFL, I'm sorry, but I can't do anything but laugh at that!

That's crazy. And to make it worse, some poor kid got your gig bag!
