Was that the first Fodera AJ Signatures , or one of the firsts I guess , trid one of these years ago with maple top , what a bass that was , still in my head after these years , I guess it was in the early 90s for sure

Three more weeks and my new presentation grade Buckeye Burl Emperor II 5 will be finished! Then I have to wait a few days to get it because I'm going to be overseas...ugh!

I've tried so many different types and I want to get used to a short thick stubby pick, but I just can't..So I resort to one of those tacky sounding 0.45mm picks. I know they're really like trainer pants that lead up to some grown up trousers, but I just can't settle on those short stubbies.

Before Millennia he used an FM acoustics pre that got stolen i think...

So, first off a BIG THANKS to "wrp" for being so incredibly patient with us. Although for 99% of our builds' delivery times have become downright predictable, wrp's bass has taken MUCH, MUCH longer to be brought to life than any other recent instrument. It WILL be finished in time for his visit on May 3rd at which time AJ himself will be at the shop to check it out.
That is one of the reasons that #12's specs have not been nailed down yet. The instrument that we are making for wrp uses some new build concepts that AJ and Vinny have long been talking about. These completely new concepts are also what's causing the instrument to take so darn long to make.
That said, some of the concepts are...
1. Much more of a hollow design than we have ever done before. The bridge and pups will actually be resting on "floating" support beams (under the top) rather than solid body material.
2. This instrument will be four inches thick but due to its "hollowness" should not weight any more than a Presentation.
3. Like Matt Garrison's Semi-Hollow, wrp's instrument will have Vinny's (now patented!) heel-less design.
4. 36" scale (of course).
Hope that whets the appetite and wrp you are a true gentleman and have been far more patient than I would have been, but we ARE in the home stretch as Vinny has finally broken the intellectual log jam that was holding him back for quite some time. Thanks again and we cannot wait to see you in May!!!

It could well be one of the newish FM line stage pre-amp's. Swiss made and at the pinnacle of high-end audio.
Which line do you mean?
The on I know of the (now old) M-1 Class pre amp.
A small box with a very high pricetag.
I'm not aware of others like that from FM.

It could be the FM 255-MKII, which is probably out of reach for most of our pockets.

Ah ok... Thanks for the link! It looks like a domestic unit I recon, rather than a studio/stage pre.
But VERY neat!
Not saying it wouldn't do it though...
