So, other than Jason(because you are the luckiest man in the world of bass players), who here has owned a YY Deluxe and a YY Standard? Thoughts about the differences? Preference?
I know they are both Monarchs(I have owned 2 monarchs), I just want some more specific info of the differences between the Deluxe and Standard playability, tone, and any other thoughts.
Thanks, guys. Look forward to any input.

I really dig this bass. This video was record with my iPhone and I think the sound is pretty good
I talked about the differences on one of the other threads. At wooten woods right now so a brief reply. Custom shop preamp is a bit more subtle in eq control than std. The neck on the std is excellent with about the best access up high that I've played on a bolt on. But the dovetail is pure sex - just gorgeous to see and touch. Is the deluxe worth the extra money? Depends on the person. Playability and tone on the std are top notch. The deluxe moves to sublime in tone and aesthetics.

I like the look of it too and I would like it if the distance between the strings and body surface would not be so damn high(like a Fender without the pickguard)
Jason couldn't this set-in-neck method be done just a few millimeters lower ???

but if the distance is too close (like what it is on a Ken Smith), after a period of slapping the area below the G string begins to "peel off," doesn't it?
