We haven't done a major amount of playing them...the recordings were all done by Matt Garrison. We wanted this to be about sound and judging how they sound different. Because the feeling that we get when we play an instrument has a major impact on us, we deliberately wanted to exclude that from this appraisal...

Perhaps you guys could include the feel in a later discussion? I think that could be very valuable as well for someone who is considering different options. I know I would be curious to know you guys take on how the feel plays into the equation. I know different woods vibrate differently and I can feel that when I play...

in San Diego with family for a Lego Land vaca and just left Bass San Diego... Saw and touched the Set Neck one but didn't play it, gorgeous! Did play the Standard (Monarch) one for a while and what an impressive instrument! Chris at the shop is AWESOME and trying to find a way to allow the fam to let me sneak out and visit them.again before we head back home lol! Of course I had to buy a shirt:smug:

Looking at the price difference makes me glad I'm a dedicated bolt-on kind of guy.

That being said, the neck to body transition on the back of neck-through Foderas is simply beautiful.

I've always thought that the set neck on those looks odd because of where the woods change on the neck, but I'm pretty sure one can't complain about the upper fret access. And i'd love to see that bass from the front, by the way...

I also agree that, when we're getting into Fodera pricing, an $800 difference is kind of unnoticeable. So if I were about to slap my money down and wanted the set neck, I wouldn't even think twice.
