:D I just love the way it feels when playing in the lower register. You never have to move! I spent about 10 minutes on a MGS at the shop not too long ago and fell in love with everything but the C string! Every bass I've ever owned has been to Fender specs except my newest AC LM5, with 18mm spacing. I dig it. But I'm still debating whether I want the smaller spacing on my next Imperial or not. My current one has "Fender specs" and I must admit it feels incredible! Gotta do some thinking....what made you go back to those specs?

I was down to 15mm spacing, and 32" scale on my Alembic, and I picked up this fretless Abass from the lowend, and it was like a Ratatouille moment I realized what I wanted in a Fodera was an Ash body, Maple neck/Maple fretboard, and wasn't really too concerned what top it had on it, and in 34" length. Though I really dig the Olive, You can feel the veins of the wood in the finish, I haven't been sleeping much.

Jesus, that's small. Well I certainly feel you on the ash body and maple/maple and olive top. It's truly the greatest sounding bass I've ever played. I'm pretty sure my next build is going to be the same wood combo with the exception of an alder tone block. Wouldn't mind if the ash weighed a little less, too....but I think the 33" scale is the way to go. String spacing is still questionable. :)

when I think 60s Fender, I think Alder body and RW fb. That being said, my Imperial is Ash body, flamed maple tone block, maple neck/BE maple fb and it cops all of those sounds plus it can get snappy and grindy if I want to cut through a little. Not much experience with walnut/ebony but it seems to have more of that modern sound than anything "vintage"....

We have done that to one Alembic. In the end it still sounding more Alembic than Fodera. The reality is that the design of Alembics (woods, mass, PUP spacing, PUP's) have as much to do with their tone as the preamp...IMHO, of course.

2 differents basses...

Maybe you should asking you if you want a 5 or a 6 strings.

Anyway I am sure both are excelent basses.

In Thailande people says :

same-same, but different....
I would adding : but good !

I spend a couples of months wondering should I go ash/maple FB or walnut/ebony FB...

And gone for the walnut/ebony...

The result is I started to think about the spec for a second Fodera....:bawl:
(if Jason find enought patience...:D)
