On a 34" scale bass, 1/2 inch, to be exact.

Fair question about pickups tho too, because the pickups were different in those two eras, and people like Carey Nordstrand and I believe Jimmy Coppolo wind pickups different for each spec.

Hey Jason, very dumb question that I think I know the answer to, but have to ask....

Is a M4S available fretless? I know the only Standard option is black hardware, why not let me order a fretless M4S? Less work for Fodera?:smug::D

Not to mention spot-on. The MGS and ES5 I had the privilege of spending a little time with were game changers.

Makes me wish there was a better word, since "Standard", while completely accurate as "standardized configuration", carries unfortunate connotations of "bare bones/base" model... and both their article and ours point out this is of course not the case.

people in the know understand and the rest just get GAS
My YYS is a wonderful instrument every bit as good as the other 4 deluxe or elites, just different neck joint and paint. The other standards with the woods used are basically the same especially the maple and pau ferro combo on the ES5 and M4S except with a bolt on option

The M4S is not, but we are in serious discussions about building a 4-string fretless with an Ebony FB, based on the "Standard" concept...

We are not in love with the term "Standard" either, but over the past two years we have yet to think of anything better. Besides on one level, it is kind of cool that these are our "standards."....

Seriously, I think that would be a real good seller.

I personally can't justify a fretless custom, but a standard in the rough price same range as a M4S? Seriously, I would order one.... just don't tell my wife.:ninja:
