Im noticing its pretty easy to hit harmonics with this bass.

Yep, all single coil mode with just pickup pan and treble adjustments.

For those that aren't aware there is often two rotational positions in a room that are 180 deg opposite where the hum disappears.

Nuwavedc, awesome recordings, I've always liked your tune, "another road" i can hear a tone difference between this mg and your other one with the clips on YouTube. You play that one in single coil mode on the neck pickup is that what I'm hearing?

Good ears! The old recording was panned about 30-40% to the neck in SC, correct.

Honestly, it's pretty tough to tell from that picture, because it's dark and lacks clarity/detail, but it looks to me like it might be Myrtle.

I actually have only one Fodera bass and 2 Fodera T-Shirts. My second Fodera bass is on order though.

I must say though, I actually do have a pretty stellar bass t-shirt collection.... Fodera, Jule Amps, Fender, Gibson, Musicman.... Like a friggin' walking Guitar Centre ad!:bassist: mainly what I wear when not in a suit/tie.

I'll fall in the minimalist category. 1 fodera, zero fodera shirts. Actually, I don't have any bass gear related clothing.

I guess I'm not sure about his post, because the only Monarch Standards I know about are the ones that JUST came out, and don't look like that bass other than they have the same body shape. So the only Monarch Standards I know about definitely don't date back to 2003, don't have that pickup configuration, don't have that knob layout, etc.

So I was just assuming he made a mistake and that's actually just a Monarch 4 custom order.

But I could be wrong, too. :)

I'm not exactly sure about the details, but I've read on earlier Fodera posts about a previous "standard" line that fodera did. I think 2003 would fall in that timeline. Not sure if this bass is one of them though. Could have been a custom.

They used to make a standard line called the "New Standard" that we're built from the late 90's to the mid to late 2000's. They were pretty much a Monarch bolt-on with the NYC two-band preamp and a non-separate headstock with an ebony cap. It's what I have and they're great basses.

There was an older standard line called the Monarch New Standard.
It was a bolt on 4 string and it had a 2 band eq. It came with a few different top wood options and I think they all had black (or maybe ebony) cap on the headstock. I tried for a while to get one before i got my Monarch Deluxe. They seem to be hard to find now.
