I second the Bergantino cabs! I also REALLY like my TF with Accugroove cabs. The TF and an El Whappo is one of my favorites of all time. I also used it with one or 2 Tri 115s for quite a while in smaller settings with great results. I like the Tri 112 as well but the Tri 115 is damn near as fast and has a bit more oomph and girth to it. You would be shocked at how loud the Tri 115 is with just one cab and the El Whappo....Fuhgetaboutit! It's insanely good at any volume but can get loud enough to hurt you! If I had to pick a single cab solution it would definitely be the El Whappo. It's a shame they are out of business but there are still cabs to be had out there.

It worked great with my Sadowsky, but the Fodera is so much more versatile and even across the frequency range, my current setup is way too mid-rangy. When I run the bass direct at home, it's the sound I want out of my rig, but just don't get it. The rig cuts through the entire band which consists of two electric guitards, keys, drums and x4 vocalists, and I know scooping out some of those mids might bury me in the on-stage mix.

I'm running the TF-550B and a Schroeder 1212L. Both of which are very mid range rich. I love the head and won't get rid of it, but I am looking to get something a bit more scooped to hopefully balance out the tone I want to hear. I need 12's because I use an octaver, synth and envelope which will tear up 10's (especially because we are really loud).

Just looking for some suggestions right now. Not sure the route I want to go.

How about Epifani stuff? I have UL-501 head and two Epifani UL 112 series III cabinets. Enough power and headroom. Light and easy to use.
Very interesting this New Standard thing. I have had NYC Fodera and preamp was little different. It had yes two band eq but it also had passive tone and that is the thing I really liked and wish that my new standard also have it.
I have been thought Flexcore preamp for my new standard because it have this passive tone and few other extras I might need.
My late Imperial had a Fodera teardrop case and it was really really awesome thing:) Only thing is that I live in Finland and posting case here is (I think) pretty expensive. And that's not all yet....there is taxes all that prices. Wish that here is someday Fodera dealer:)

I personally think the Epi cabs are great sounding, so I'd vote for those, too.

Chris, if you're dedicated to the idea of using more than 2 speakers/1 cab, or at least having that option, at least the CN is not available in 8 ohms, so you could only run one of those... at least IMHO "safely" with that TFB.

I def need to try them out. I'm not sold on one way or the other to be honest. 2 cabs, one cab, no cab.. ok, not no cab... Part of me thinks I could easily spend some time and "dial out" the over midrangy frequencies and move on. I really need to just weigh the pros and cons of it all.

I don't know of any Baer dealers in the area, but Jive Sound is a Berg dealer. Def worth a shot. Thanks!

Accugroove! I forgot about them. I need to see if I can find one around here. I have heard (pardon the pun) they are good. Thanks for the tips!

FWIW, I believe that Mark is no longer making new cabs, so you are going to be limited to the used market for Accugroove. Good stuff, though.

Epifani does make some nice cabs. I used to own a bunch of them.

I heard that to but no problem with mine. I had some noise issue two years ago. But I send it to them and they fixed it for free. I read on Bona's FB page that he had alot of breakdowns with his Bonafide and therefor changed to Markbass. But I don't travel around the world all the time :)

Uses both. Depends on the gig. Rock'n'roll both cabs in one channel. More bass/sound gigs I use stereo

I am down from 17 basses to 7, and I am selling 3 more in the next month or so to fund my Monarch 5 Deluxe build.

By next year, I will have 2 Foderas and 3 vintage Fenders. The Fenders would likely go too, but my wife bought me my 1974 P and my 1983 Jazz belonged to Jason Newstead of Metallica and is basically a display piece in my studio.

Foderas are just that good IMO... I don't need a ton of other basses.

Fodera is, in fact, - except that it does not affect its own instruments - a total GAS killer.

I'm in the minority in that I've never owned a real boutique/custom bass before. I've had several high end Music Mans and Fenders, but since I received my bass 9 months ago, I've sold all but 3: a stock 2012 USA P-bass, an 80's Larrivee 6-string fretless, and my first bass, a '98 Squier jazz. The Larrivee is the next to go.

The only thing a Fodera creates GAS for is another Fodera. :hyper:

By the way - I just had a thought: I don't see many fretless Foderas. I've seen/heard Marcus Miller's, and Christian McBride's, but who else on these forums keep a FF in their stable?

This is probably the most gorgeous and appealing fretless I've ever seen.

I echo Tom's suggestions about the 112 and 115, but also his concern about the sort of "discontinued" state of them. Also, if you stumble across some tri 210's, I'd advise avoiding them. I don't like the tone or the form factor... a definite "fail" in the AG product line IMHO.

The series 1 310 was pretty good, but the series 2 was scooped a bit more and I think too much. However, if you can find one of the S1 or S2 UL410's, those are rockin' cabs. I just got tired of moving a 410 around and went more modular.

I use a t212 epifani cab at most of my gigs and it is punchy clear and plenty of bass for most rooms. Not a gig goes by that someone doesnt come up curious asking about the foderas/rig

I just purchased a mint Epi S1 4x10" and this is just the best cab I could imagine to have (I used to have some "later" S2 cabs -112s and 310 the last years, also one of the first T310 in germany back in 2001 (?)) but I'm thinking of selling my UL902 amp because it just has a little technical problem and the customer service by Epifani is sooo bad - not one answered question by Nick, he does not even react, his son at least gave me the contact to their guy in Italy since I do not want to ship my amp the USA for a repair job (Their guy in Italy who built the parts for the UL502/902 is great and does a great job answering questions and takes care of problems). A company can raise or fail with their customer service and I'm pretty disappointed - so I'll try new amps soon :)

I just gigged with an EA iAmp 800 that I borrowed of a friend and liked it pretty much... also I could maybe buy a WW Blue-Light , but that is the same situation like with Epifani if sth. gets broken, since as far as I know WW does not repair stuff from people outside the US ?! :)

I was thinking about this recently as well.... You really don't sees ton of Fodera fretless basses. Yes, they are out there, but compared to many other boutique builders, the Fodera fretless #'s seem comparatively low.

In any case, that Fretless is great looking. Not sure about the extended B headstock though. I considered it for my current build, but they look goofy to me for some reason.:hmm:

My Macassar / Walnut Emperor elite will be fretless soon - and if I don't like it - it'll get new Vintage frets (the frets on this 06' bass are definitely larger than on my new Viceroy) :smug:
