I bring my own combo to play through...life's too short to sound bad.

So guys what do you do when you show up at an open jazz jam in a horrid neighbor hood with shady cats (and seriously talented cats btw) where equipment is provided only to have to play through a 12" $300 amp with a ripped cone? In the end its about how and what you play, your ideas. In my studio and on a nice gig, of course the fodera comes out - I'm not keeping museum pieces. Obviously next time ill avoid off topic stuff.

IMO there is nothing worse than a world class bass laying in its case or hanging on a wall not seeing any action. When the band I was playing in had a break, I put my bass in gig bag and have it on me at all times. If drunks were jumping on stage I would grab my cheap bass and give my Celinder to my girlfriend. She loves that bass almost as much as I do.
