the no of my first Fodera was 1755 & I bought this at Sep. 2000 so you can get some idea to guess.
I hope this will help.

now that i've been really looking at fodera pics and really checkin their site, i've noticed that there seems to be 2 different knob configurations for the 3 band pope. does the knob config signify any time period for the bass or is that just an option they offer at build time? also, anyone know if there is an approximation on which serial numbers come from which years? i'm 1707 and curious about when this beauty was built.

Funny thing,,,, I heard Lincoln Goines is teaching at Berklee these days so I contact him to see if he has time to squeeze me in. I'm in committed to 3 months of weeklys.

It's going to be a little embarrassing when I bust this out.

What did he say to your Bass :)

The differences are that the Emperor has a larger, slightly offset body (a touch more J-Bass in style) while the Monarch is smaller and symmetrical.

As for headstocks, the original headstock from Fodera was larger...since so many of the Monarch's being made are "Victor Wooten Classics" -- a remake of a 1983 model, that is why you see so many Monarchs with larger headstocks. If you were to order a new Monarch that was NOT a Victor Wooten Classic, the headstock would be the narrower, modern shape -- unless you requested it to be otherwise.

Unfortunately not mine, but here a 2nd hand that a famous US shop sold over the weekend... I didn't even have the chance to think whether I'd buy it (I know I would!)...even if I am about to receive a "very simple" VW Classic with standard spec but I'm also GASsing for a 6 string....

Isn't this a beauty? Probably if I had to choose, my 6 string Fodera would be a Monarch Elite, with an Imperial Elite coming close second....

Man, that is really something.....I've always loved the monarch shape as a six string. That's what I would want for sure. Give me that with 26 frets and tight string spacing and we're in business!!!!

That looks very similar to Oteil's bass. Was this one made as an unofficial 'Oteil signature' bass (like all the ash bodied, olive topped, birdseye fretboard Imperials that aren't officially Bona signature models but for all intensive purposes are Bona signature models)?

hey, glad you like it!

it's all passive: there's no volume , and it's blender (? to choose the pick-up) and tone control. there's a on/off switch and a single/dual coil switch.

I don't have any other pics, because the flash of my camera makes the top looks orange, and I can manage not to move when I take the picture:rollno:...
