Fodera Needed for Victor Wooten Tonight! Help!!

I just started a thread on this but as this seems to directly pertain to Victor's issues right now I think it could help.
In Michael Manring's latest newsletter he discusses some new legislation being considered to allow musician's to make it easier for musician's to carry their instruments on as carry on items.
He writes:
Finally I'd like to ask for a favor to all of us who travel with musical instruments. Congress is currently considering legislation that will make it easier for us to take our instruments onboard airplane cabins instead of risking loss or damage from sending them as checked baggage. The Musicians' Union has made a simple and quick way to register your support, so if this is something you feel you could help out with please have a look at Link Removed. Also please consider passing the link onto anyone you think might be interested.

By now the show has to be over. So what happened? What ended up in the players hands?
Also, I'd like to express some amount of empathy over the fact that having ANY beloved instrument out of your hands and in an uncertain situation is awful. While I'm sure the bass (or basses) are insured, it still is a huge loss of a good friend or a well loved tool.
I have a couple instruments that mean a lot to me and would be impossible to replace, and just not knowing where they are would be devestating.
I hope the airport comes through and and all works out. I hope the show worked out.

The "we" most definitely included Vic who personally requested that we help him with this. We are a small Company and we really do look at things as the "Fodera Family". As a Company we would respond the same way for any of our players. Whether the community would rally behind it is another question, but in the end, we love what we do, care greatly for ALL of our players and try to help them as best we can...

I'm not waving with it and thinking that it makes me special or what ever ****..
No stupid badge of honor or stuff like that.
I'm just saying that I see people that like my tone(though I sometimes don't really like it because of the bass) and they don't care I use a 100 USD bass.
If I get a good tone from a 100 USD bass,so can Vic-and I'm 100% sure that he can get a good tone from one like that.

We received literally HUNDREDS of responses from all over the world including two Fodera players that were very close to Oslo, but just too far away from the Gig to make it happen. So, at the end of the day he sourced a Marcus Miller Jazz Bass from someone local and did the gig on that.
Now, a note on why he wanted a Fodera...yes Vic CAN play a two by four with two strings and play significantly better on it than many of us, however, on his solo gigs (especially when he is out JUST with JD Blair and its only the two of them), there are a number of his techniques that are very much intertwined with his having played a Fodera for over 20 years. Many of his riffs ARE above the 21st fret and a lot of the hammer-on techniques that he uses require incredibly low action and active pickups in order to achieve the desired result.
Although I am 100% certain that Vic, as the consummate professional, killed it earlier today even without his bass (or another Fodera for that matter), as a true professional who is putting on a show for people that may never have seen him before (or ever have a chance to see him again), why shouldn't he try his best to put his best foot forward and play as comfortably as he possibly can?

Thanks so much for the kind words and as the person who had much of his day blown apart trying frantically to get Vic a bass to use, your words are very appreciated...
To those of you that don't dig what we do here at Fodera, hey, it's cool. We are not for everyone, but do let me ask you this, why are you so resentful of people that are trying their very best to do their very best everyday, take care of our customers and remain as passionate about music and our instruments as the day we started working here? All we want is to keep pushing what bass guitars are capable of forward and to help bring music to life through the hands of our artists. When they need our help, we try our best to be there...shouldn't every company do that?

Folks, just to clear up an obvious misconception...none of the celebrated artists that play a Fodera have an Endorsement Deal with us. We do not have one contract with one of our artists. Just handshakes, friendships and (hopefully) great instruments. Sometimes for really top players we build them at nice discounts (usually 30% off for very top artists).
Vic has no contract and he can play whatever he chooses. He is our dear friend and he happens to love our gear. Our trying to get him a bass was borne purely out of trying to help a friend that asked.
Heck, I just posted that he played the gig on a Marcus Miller Jazz Bass to give everyone closure. We are not worried about him playing other basses...his main fretless isn't one of ours...

I have no doubt that Vic could go on stage with a washtub, a broomstick and a piece of string and make it sound awesome. That said, he has an endorsement deal with Fodera, so it could be a legal issue if he doesn't have at least ONE Fodera up there to play. It isn't necessarily about what Vic NEEDS to play, as much as what he needs to stay out of endorsement hot water. It could also be that Vic simply wants a bass somewhat like his own, so he can give the show his best shot without his usual arsenal. No hate on Vic or Fodera either way...
*Nortyfiner suddenly has a visual of Vic playing a washtub bass with a Fodera butterfly on the stick...ROFL*
Should? Yes! Do they? Not very often, unfortunately. I've worked in some version of customer service/support more than once in my professional career, and service like what you attempted to do here for Vic is above and beyond and I salute you for stepping up like this.

My family and I got to meet Vic when he was at the Granada in Dallas with Stanley Clarke, and he was extraordinarily courteous. He talked with my son, 14, about attending his camp this summer (he is one of my son's main influences), and even asked my son what he liked best about his set.
My point? Vic seems to be a super guy and a tremendous artist, and I salute Fodera for working so hard to help solve a problem. I can't imagine how anyone could think this is other than a good thing.
