Fodera Yin-Yang Standard Wait Support Group

I just have to confess that I have tried. I read the TB classifieds. I hit my favorite bass vendor websites. But GAS has gone.

I know, give it time, but with the Yin Yang, along with finishing my BFM two-jack-stack, and I'm... complete!

Thanks, Fodera.

I was that way too until.... The Empire 5 Standard came along. I guess the only thing that gives you GAS when you have a Fodera is.... Another Fodera. :hiding:

It's here. Wow. Christmas came early.
Thanks to Donovan at Fretspot! I can be a frustrating customer: I'm going to buy it, I'm not going to buy it, I'm going to buy it, life gets in the way, finally I find a way to buy it. And yet Donovan says he doesn't hate me. :D
My three hour review: It's everything I hoped it would be. Feels like a bass that should be played - not a museum piece. And everything is a bit more effortless. Loving it.
OK, gotta go play now.

Nice!!! Enjoy it!!!:bassist::bassist::bassist:

Wasn't a problem at all. I knew that you NEEDED to own this bass, so I just patiently waited for you to come to your senses! :D

It's an awesome piece - enjoy it! And you guys can rest assured that this bass is gonna get played, and not just added to someone's "collection". Nothing wrong with collections, but dang it, Fodera's need to be played! :D

It seems pretty tough. I gig the bass a lot and don't baby it, doing a fair amount of slap (at least for me). Some glossing of the paint in that area from the wear, but no chipping or obvious visual changes otherwise. It is kind of the equivalent to pickguard wear/hazing then slapping.

some of my other foderas have a thumb nail spot especially on the p pup models. Mojo... I assume the YYS will eventually develope the same. if ugly i will take sharpie to it.

I bet no one (but Fodera) have seen serial #10 yet :)

It does actually catches some ''slap'' wear pretty fast on the finish, I wonder what it would be like in 2 years or so? If we can see the maple through the finish? let's see :hmm: If hope you won't be afraid to keep slapping that dang tho :D

That Fodera is not mine (I wish it was ), but for a friend of mine, with a bunch two of my basses taken with them (but I now own a beautiful Monarch Deluxe :p)

Hehe, yeah, I noticed

It is indeed his Marcus Miller crafted in Japan, but I'm not sure he digs Alembic basses..
For info, that Modulus next to the Fodera was mine, but I lately sold it to him, and the Stingray on the left is mine :)

ALL of these are FANTASTIC and very different basses :bassist:

I just ran into one of these YYS basses at an online retailer where I picked up my new bass purchase.
Had no idea how much it would cost, so I messaged asking for the retail price.
Now knowing the price, and knowing I would need roll 2.5 to 3 basses to buy one of these...
Like 3 of my Musicman, Warwick, G&L, Alembic, Gibsons......
I actually might consider it at some point?
I DO love the look of this YYS bass...very cool for sure.

The funny thing is the YYS I found is #23 and made in September.
My birthday is 9/23....WHOAAAAA!!!
Talk about meant to be!!! ????
Just need the $4,750 plus shipping, before they sell it... and I would be good to go!! :(

Wondering if any of you guys who already own one of these Bolt on YYS basses could give an honest assumption of why this might be worth letting go of 3 basses I mentioned above? What is better about it ? feel? tone? build quality?

Thanks :)
