For you married men......

I really couldn't say. When I was married, I was in a Combat Engineering squadron, and we weren't supposed to wear rings anyway; too much danger of loosing a finger. Which, I'm sorry to say, I saw happen more than once. My wife (who was also in the military; same career field, in fact) knew why I didn't, and it was never a problem for her. And after I retired, I did the same sort of work for several years; no problem then, either. About the time I changed jobs, we got divorced; absolutely no problem then...;)

I only notice it unless I'm doing left-hand heavy percussive thing like mark king.

I only take it off unless I'm in the water.

I pretty much wear my ring constantly- the only exceptions being for safety at work, weight lifting, or if I'm doing something where it could get lost (the pool).

So that applies to playing bass.

I've thought about getting one of those silicone rings for situations like that. Such a small investment if it gets lost or broken and such.

I can't wear my ring in anything but cold weather, both my hands swell up for some odd reason. Both my hubby and I play multiple instruments and this is our solution. Plus we love tatts anyway. 23 years of marriage so far. image.jpgimage.jpg

I have a problem wearing my wedding when I play my bass ,whether practicing at home or at gigs, I find it extremely uncomfortable, my wife who is the singer on our band always wears hers on our gigs , she thinks I don't wear mine so the women don't know I'm married ..
do any of you guys find it difficult to play with your wedding band or is it just me?

OMG YES!!!!!! I once lost one after placing it in my pocket and at the end of the night had fallen out!! My wife gets pissed! I tried to explain how inhibiting it is and that I meant no disrespect in taking it off. I am a happily married man and have no intentions of picking up women on a gig. "BUT" Try explaining that to your significant other!!!!!!!!!!

I found that doing electronics repair and mechanical work with a ring on could cost you a finger. Wore mine for about two years til I got tired of taking it off and on for work.
BTW... you get a lot more offers from women with it on!
